It basically shows the PAF Chief's public statements are the deterrance for he has little room to manuever, geostraegically speaking, unlike his counterpart at the IAF. The US policy may opt for countering China via engaging the 3rd parties in the 3rd countries.....

yah ... bunch of random clips mashed together with a clickbait title "PAF Pilots completed J-35 Training" and the juveniles here started having orgasm!

According to Chinese tradition, if PAF has already agreed with AVIC on the purchase of the J35, this Zhuhai Airshow is the best time for the signing ceremony.
Now, the Zhuhai Airshow is over. Obviously, we haven't seen any news on this matter. This indicates that there is no agreement between the two sides. The exact reason is unknown to us. But that's the way it is.
So, it is absolutely impossible for PAF to get J35 in two years.

No doubt we are indeed getting this jet. Some sort of initial briefings have already taken place in China for inducting this platform

Any idea though when we'll see it in PAF colours? Within this decade?

In fact this is something, no-one denies! Yes it will come ...

... so the question si only WHEN!

And here are since about one year two sides arguing against each other: To put it mildly, the one - critical - side like me and @Michael are trying to argue with reasons like "time from contract signed to delivery" takes usually time, flight testing too even more so when it only flew last year and that it will unlikely be delivered first to an export customer ... the other side relies on "hearsay", rumours and "trrust me brrrother; I tell you !"

I do not think there was a signing ceremony for J-10 at Zhuhai so unsure how this "tradition" started....

The J-10C made its first public appearance during the PLA's 90th anniversary parade in 2017.In 2022, the first J-10CEs arrived at a Pakistani airbase and subsequently took part in the Pakistan National Day parade.
The J-10C is the lowest-end fighter among the modern PLAAF's Air Four Musketeers.

The J-35A made its first public appearance at the Zhuhai Airshow. It is the newest fighter among the modern PLAAF's Air Four Musketeers. Obviously, it is inappropriate to draw an analogy between the export of the J-35 and the J-10CE.

In traditional Chinese culture, important agreements must take place at an important time or with other important things. This is known as “献礼” in China. The most important order surprise at this year's Zhuhai Airshow was undoubtedly the Su-57E, and if China and Pakistan had already agreed on an export deal for the J-35, it is unlikely that China would have let Russia come out on top. The only possible reason is that there is still a huge difference between China and Pakistan over the J-35.

Being outclassed on one's home turf is considered a “slap in the face” in traditional Chinese culture. The J-35 is an important future export product planned by AVIC, and it would be difficult for it to accept being “slapped in the face” by someone else.

I am not debating the class of aircraft or Chinese culture, I defer to you on that, you know much more. I simply pointed out that there is no "tradition" of signing for PAF at Zhuhai. As you say it can be an important occasion that they leave the signing to, but I think in context of Pak-China relationship there are many important opoortunities and visits (almost on a monthly basis!) that the signing ceremony can occure. Just because it did not happen at air show I think it is hard to read too much into that fact.

Often, these types of major agreements are agreed upon months in advance of signing, and then an optimal moment is selected for the signing ceremony at a subsequent important time.
Analyzing the known information on the subject, the only best moment in recent months was the Zhuhai Airshow.
The Chinese government usually conducts very few major foreign affairs activities during the winter months (with the exception of unforeseen circumstances). The focus of this time period is domestic. The time period around the Chinese New Year is the busiest time for domestic affairs in China.

Again, I am not questioning the possibility of PAF buying J-35. I am just doing some analysis of its timing based on reality.

While I’m all for patience, I agree, don’t think you can read too much into lack of public signing ceremony. I believe first we officially heard that the J-10’s were coming was from a blabber mouth interior minister a few months before delivery. (Rumour had it that the establishment wasn’t too happy with him at the time.) You can still see that report right at the start of the PAF J-10 thread.

Well below link is Pak PM attending important signing ceremony in China in Feb 2022. During winter and Chinese New year. Grated it was during Winter Olympics, but does prove my point that we can read too much into events.
