Read it from neutral source not from the bharat bak bak source, you're not behind the PAF in term of quality and quantity but ahead of PAF in many fields in 71 war

I responded by making comment that I retract my statement and then I sarcastically added that PAF has used twin engine jets for role that can be achieved by Apache’s. Again, where is the derailing? Has PAF ever used a twin-engine as its mainstay? No and there is a reason. You can’t afford it.

Apache's in 1980's? considering it was 5 squadrons of A5's, a sizeable fleet.
250 J6's, sounds mainstay enough.
B57's serving an important role.
Il-28's, once again, serving an important role.

The reason behind the PAF not using a twin engine as its mainstay is simple. Of course cost plays a factor, but tell me what twin engine aircraft designs were available to the PAF?

Typhoons? Tranche -1's.
PAF negotiated both for Jaguars and Tonka's, a deal was not agreed upon for one reason or another.
F-15's? Never available.
SU-27's and Mig-29's, were considered only to use as a negotiating tool against france for Mirage 2000's.

PAF now explicitly looking for a heavy twin NGFA, uninterested in smaller single engine designs. Oh not to mention, Mirages likely have cost per flight hour numbers similar enough to cost effective twins.

On the contrary, for the IAF, the majority of the time it had no single engine alternatives...
