PAF SAM based Air Defense System - News, Discussion & Updates

Not destroyed -
The trucks were there - IAF did get a position on them prior to 7th - then they were moved.
However, the trucks were also parked close to C-130 ramps and near the ramp there were also fuel truck(next to reported underground fuel tank)and servicing vehicle for C-130.
Brahmos to India's credit hit barely 20m offset from the target - its shock and splinter igniting a fire and explosion to fuel truck which then sprayed debris on C-130 wing and fuselage damaging it(subsequently repaired).
Fire from truck is what caused the burn for so long supposedly. Another reason citied for PAF fire fighting crews not putting it out is potential of fire hitting storage or C-130 causing secondary explosions(and potential causalities among firefighting crew).

So yes a bowser and another vehicle was lost - but the C2 asset was not in the area.
@side-winder could shed some more light.

India had already queued satellite overpasses for BDA from the strike which is why they could use the burning bowser for PR.
There were two trucks which were supposed to be mobile command centres. Those were destroyed. However it's not clear if they were deployed or a work in progress

2 vehicles part of mobile C2 system were destroyed - not operational at that time - no equipment inside.

Tbf the Indians got pretty unlucky, they should have achieved better results from that textbook saturation attack, they also couldn't destroy any of the radar stations that they targeted, our Air defenses performed decently all things considered although things will improve as more Systems are added

I WAS WONDERING,CAN WE BUILD SOMETHING LIKE THIS FOR OUR AD SYSTEMS?...THIS SAVES THEM FROM LOITERING MUNITIONS AND CAN MAKE THE ENEMY PLAY A GUESSING GAME TO CHECK IF THE BUILDING IS EMPTY OR NOT....COUPLE OF COUNTRIES IN OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD
HAVE BUILD THESE FACILITIES TO SAFEGAURD THEIR SYSTEMS:
1)CHINA:

2)ISRAEL

In a pre-emptive brahmos strikes, all these major facilities may be knocked out. It is astonishing to think that Pakistan Military has not constructed hardened structures to safe guards ADs, Fighter Jets and AWACS assets. ASTONISHING !!

  • Wow

3)INDIA
THE ONLY BUNKER LIKE AD SHELTER I FOUND O THE INTERNE TWAS THE INDIAS AMB NETWORK OUTSIDE DELHI AND IN THE LADKAH REGION AGAIST CHINA

there are HAS for fighter jets on most bases...the concept of hiding ad systems in places where they can launch interceptors from i believe is not that old...there are HAS for awacs but not on our airfields..these HAS are costy to build and maintain...

100%. Massive structures with multiple layers of concrete and steel beams are needed to house so much hardware.

these probably in millions of dollars...easily could have been saved if put inside a hardened facility...even above ground would have worked...

Nope. More or less merely hollow trucks when non-operational -- Easily replaceable.

Also the whole system consists of multiple trailers. Not just 2.

HT-223 is a passive electronically scanned array sensor.

This is isn't HT-223. This is new JSG-400 TDR. Which is AESA.

The most significant difference between the HQ9B and HQ9A radars is the elimination of the space-fed PESA feed source. That is, the one I circled in red.

The JSG-400 radar is an S-band search radar; Pakistan did not purchase the 780 target indication radar.
