Eagle Eye Monitoring — 𝐀𝐥-𝐐𝐚.𝐞𝐝𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐂𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚n

🔺Al-Mirsaad, a media outlet 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 (𝐆𝐃𝐈) 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚.𝐞𝐝𝐚, released a three-minute video commemorating the death anniversary of OBL, the founder of Al Q.aeda.

▪️The video, available in multiple languages including Persian, Pashto, Arabic, Urdu, English, Turkish, and Uzbek, also honors OBL's allegiance to the Taliban.

🔺𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚.𝐞𝐝𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧

▪️An estimated 16,000 members of Al Qa.eda are currently in #Afghanistan. The organization has re-established militant training camps and is collaborating with the Taliban in various illicit enterprises such as drug trafficking, mining, and smuggling.

▪️The profits from these operations are being funneled to support global jihadist movements.

🔺𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚.𝐞𝐝𝐚

▪️The Taliban provides extensive logistical support to Al Qa.eda and grants access to its extensive network of illicit activities.

▪️The Taliban's backing has allowed Al Qa.eda to seize control of significant drug smuggling routes, which were previously used by the Taliban to fund their insurgency against the former Afghan government.

🔺𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐭 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬

▪️Over the past two years, Al Qaeda has extracted approximately $195 million from Afghan mining operations, with a substantial portion directed to its own funding.

▪️These illicit profits, particularly from heroin and other drug trafficking, play a critical role in sustaining Al Qa.eda's global operations.

🔺𝐀𝐥 𝐐𝐚𝐞𝐝𝐚 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐠𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧

▪️Al Qaeda has established multiple training camps in Ghazni, Laghman, Parwan, and Uruzgan provinces. Additionally, the group has set up weapon depots in Panjshir province, indicating a growing arsenal of military resources.

🔺𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐚𝐧'𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩𝐬

▪️Beyond Al Qaeda, the Taliban is also providing shelter and support to other militant groups, including the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan (IMU), and Ansaarullah. This collaboration represents a broader effort to consolidate militant activities and create a network of alliances within the region.

—— The evolving relationship between the Taliban and Al Qa.eda poses a significant threat to regional stability and international security.

The combined resources and strategic alliances suggest an increasing capability to orchestrate and support global jihadist operations.

Monitoring: ▪️ The process of identifying the terrorists killed during the operation of the security forces in Aziz Khel, a suburb of Miran Shah, on May 2 has been completed.

6 terrorists were killed in the operation while many were injured. According to local sources, three of the injured terrorists have also gone to hell. Due to which the total number of dead terrorists has increased to 9.

The details of the killed terrorists are as follows:

Afghan terrorist Jawad
Terrorist Hafiz Hammad
Terrorist Ansari
Terrorist Skaruta
دہشتگرد طوفان
دہشتگرد ظاہر

The bad character leadership of TTP is as usual shying away from recognizing their dead comrades, while the involvement of Afghan terrorists in the ranks of TTP and terrorist activities against Pakistan is the immediate concern of the Afghan interim government.

It is 'holier than thou' attitude of army, judiciary, judges, mullahs, politicians, etc. There is no standard to follow but what today's thought/mood.
One day jihad is legal, then it is not. One day protest is right and tomorrow it isn't. That is why we are in ruin.

Everybody is supposed to obey. A citizen can just break the law.
When an officer/politician breaks it, it is a violation of his oath and law.
Like a civilian is supposed to fight and protect his country. But it is a soldier's duty.
people with priveledges have different and more responsibility

Afghanistan rejects claim of its national being involved in Bisham attack

The Afghan defence ministry on Wednesday rejected Pakistan’s claim that the plot to kill five Chinese engineers in the Bisham attack was hatched in Afghanistan.

The statement comes a day after Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General (DG) Maj-Gen Ahmed Sharif said that the planning for the attack was done in Afghanistan and the suicide bomber was also its national.

“Terrorists and their facilitators were also being controlled from Afghanistan and the suicide bomber was also an Afghan national,” the ISPR DG had stated.

He had also listed other terror incidents, including by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), that he said continued from Afghan soil despite repeated complaints to the neighbour’s rulers.

Five Chinese engineers and their Pakistani driver were killed in the suicide bombing on March 26 as their bus was attacked in the Bisham city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Shangla district. They were travelling between Islamabad and a hydroelectric dam construction site in KP’s Dasu.

The attack had prompted China to demand a thorough probe into the deadly blast and security for its citizens. In response, Islamabad had announced a swift probe to hold the “perpetrators and accomplices” accountable. After a joint investigation team was formed to probe the incident, action was ordered against five senior police officials.

No group has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack on Chinese nationals.

In a statement issued today, Afghan defence ministry spokesperson Enayatullah Khwarazmi termed the claims “irresponsible and far from the reality”.

He said blaming Afghanistan for such incidents was a “failed attempt to divert attention from the truth”, adding that the killing of Chinese citizens in an area which was “under tight security cover of the Pakistani army shows the weakness of the Pakistani security agencies”.

“The Islamic Emirate has assured China on this matter and the country has also understood the fact that Afghans are not involved in such issues,” the spokesman said.

He claimed that members of the militant Islamic State group were “entering Afghanistan from Pakistan”.

“We have much evidence of Daesh (IS) who came to Afghanistan from the territory of Pakistan, and Pakistan’s territory being used against us for which Pakistan should answer,” Khwarazmi said.

He added that Kabul considered the stability and security of Pakistan to be in the interest of Afghanistan and the region and believed in the “brotherhood and good relations between the people of the two nations.

Some of the experts believe that public accusations by Pakistani and Afghan officials will further complicate the situation.

Former Pakistani Ambassador Ayaz Wazir said a public blame game would increase mistrust and further deteriorate relations.

“Both governments should hold a wide range of talks and explore ways for solutions to problems. Pakistan should clearly convey its concerns over the TTP presence in Afghanistan and also pay attention to the concerns of the other side,” Wazir told Dawn.com.

Wazir has served as the Pakistan consul general in Afghanistan’s northern city of Mazar-i-Sharif and was part of a negotiation team between the Afghan Taliban and then-opposition leader Ahmad Shah Masoud in the 1990s.

He further said that Pakistan should not blame the Afghan government for incidents in Pakistan and focus on security problems.

The tit-for-tat verbal response between the two countries’ officials shows the growing mistrust between the two countries despite several channels of communication, including a joint border coordination committee to review security issues.

6 terrorists killed in operations in North Waziristan, Dera Ismail Khan: ISPR

Iftikhar Shiraz
May 8, 2024

Six terrorists were killed by security forces in two separate intelligence-based operations (IBO) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts, the military’s media wing said on Wednesday.

A statement from the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said an IBO was conducted in the Dera Ismail Khan district on the reported presence of terrorists.

“During the conduct of [the] operation, five terrorists were successfully neutralised by the security forces and sent to hell,” the ISPR said.

“In another fire exchange in North Waziristan district, own troops effectively engaged the terrorists’ location as a result of which another terrorist Inam Ullah was sent to hell,” it added.

The ISPR said weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the militants who were actively involved in “numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as innocent civilians”.

It said sanitisation operations were being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists, adding that security forces were “determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country”.

Last week, three terrorists were killed by security forces in an exchange of fire during an IBO in KP’s Tank district.

Security forces had killed 11 terrorists in two separate operations in KP’s Dera Ismail Khan and North Waziristan districts on the night of April 21.

Pakistan has witnessed an uptick in terror activities in the past year, especially in KP and Balochistan after the banned militant Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan ended its ceasefire with the government in November 2022.

According to an annual security report issued by the Centre for Research and Security Studies, Pakistan witnessed 1,524 violence-related fatalities and 1,463 injuries from 789 terror attacks and counter-terror operations in 2023 — marking a record six-year high.

KP and Balochistan were the primary centres of violence, accounting for over 90 per cent of all fatalities and 84pc of attacks, including incidents of terrorism and security forces operations.

Afghan Taliban officials claimed that a planned trip by a Pakistani military delegation to Kandahar on Sunday was cancelled in apparent protest over reported cross-border strikes by Pakistan targeting terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan.

There was no word from the Pakistani side either on the reported airstrikes or the visit of its delegation to Kandahar.

The foreign office had no knowledge of both developments, while the military's media wing didn't respond until the filing of this report.

However, diplomatic sources said the Pakistani military delegation, comprising mid-level officials, was to travel to Kandahar on Sunday as part of efforts by both sides to resolve the issue of the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).

According to sources, the delegation was to meet Mullah Shirin Akhund, the Governor of Kandahar, and the deputy head of Afghanistan's intelligence agency. Shirin is also considered close to Taliban supreme leader Haibatullah Akhundzada. He was one of the key members of the Taliban team that helped broker talks between Pakistan and the TTP.

Mullah Shirin is a key interlocutor of the Afghan Taliban trying to defuse tensions with Pakistan over the TTP. He travelled to Islamabad earlier this year to address Pakistan’s concerns.

The planned trip was believed to be a follow-up to those efforts to find a solution to the TTP problem.

The visit, however, was cancelled by the Afghan Taliban. There were reports, and some Afghan journalists claimed that Pakistan carried out fresh airstrikes in the Paktika province of Afghanistan on Friday, killing certain TTP terrorists.

Pakistan never confirmed those attacks, although it publicly acknowledged carrying out several cross-border attacks on March 18.

An Afghan media outlet claimed it obtained information that the Taliban had cancelled a scheduled trip of a Pakistani army delegation to Kandahar in response to reported recent air and missile strikes by Pakistan in Paktika province.

Originally, the delegation was to travel from Rawalpindi to Kandahar on Sunday, the Afghan International report said.

The report quoted security sources from Pakistan, confirming to Afghanistan International, claiming that the cancellation by the Taliban was officially attributed to "weather conditions," although it is widely believed that the real reason was the airstrikes on Paktika that occurred on Thursday. The specifics of the attack and any casualties remain undisclosed.

Previously, Afghanistan International had accessed a document indicating that Pakistan had detailed the aircraft, flight times, and arrival information to the Taliban's Ministry of Foreign Affairs through an official letter sent to Kabul.

The cancelled meeting was supposed to involve "mid-level" military officials from Pakistan and Mohammad Ali Hanafi, also known as "Mullah Shirin Akhund," who is a close aide to Hibatullah Akhundzada.

As of now, the Taliban has not issued an official statement regarding the Pakistani Air Force's attacks on Paktika or the reasons behind the cancellation of the Pakistani delegation's trip.
