The current Kabul gov´t will not go anywhere. They will be here for decades if not a century and yes they have better economy then Pakistan currently and more mineral, oil, gas reserves and more rare earth. They can definitely effort other routes like China via Uzbekistan on the cheap and couple their economy entirely to Central Asia and China
