But how will you sustain it? The US pumped in trillions and stayed there for 20 years, arming and training anti-Taliban forces. Took the Taliban a few days to take everything back when the US left.

That's not a good comparison. The Americans were an occupying force.

In Pakistan's case, all it needs to do is arm one side enough to able to push the taliban out of the traditional northern heartland.

No occupation, no mess.

There's also the fact that Pakistan isn't interested in national building in Afghanistan. Let the northerners do it themselves, and they can fund it through trade with Pakistan, or transit fees they'll get by letting Pakistani trucks flow to central Asia.

yaar its stupid in our current situation . imo we should enforce posts and any weak points first with army or reserves ( so we don't get the blood shed of our FCs like we got after last strikes ) and then keep bombing them from air until they accept our demands and make a buffer zone enforced with drones and such .

"State" is not what it's being morphed into, rather hijacked. Constitution of Pakistan clearly define what state means, and that is the bottom line.
