The UN, other international agencies; as well as many countries in the world accept these terrorist groups have safe havens in Afghanistan. Furthermore, all neighbouring countries to Afghanistan have asked it to take more steps to ensure Afghan soil does not pose a terrorism threat for its neighbors. ​

After the Soviet defeat at the hands of the Mujahideen, the different Afghan warlords started fighting each other. The Mujahideen splintered into the Taliban, Northern Alliance and other factions in the 1990s. The Taliban, who primarily consisted of Pashtuns; and the Northern Alliance, who primarily consisted of non-Pashtuns. Pakistan did not have any allies in Afghanistan in the 1990s (or any time post 1947), as no one (including the Taliban) in Afghanistan accepted the Durand Line, and always wanted to break Pakistan by conquering NWFP and Balochistan. As Pakistan consisted of a huge minority of Pashtuns that had sympathies with Afghan Pashtuns, Pakistan was forced to support the least evil option (The Taliban). India supported the Northern Alliance (consisting of non-Pashtuns), despite having no stake in Afghanistan (no land borders with Afghanistan). Violence in Afghanistan could easily spill over into Afghanistan through the land border, so Pakistan had a direct stake in the developments in Afghanistan, whereas India did not. Pakistan’s support for the Taliban was done out of necessity, to bring stability in Afghanistan after the Mujahideen had splintered; and the warlords were causing anarchy inside Afghanistan. ​

Afghans have realised Delhi was NEVER genuine about "developing" Afghanistan or helping the people of Afghanistan, only about empowering all available and purchasable enemies of Pakistan!

This is well summarised, and it can become symbolic of the Indian approach to just one foot in one foot out to almost every geopolitical issue.

In theory this should harm indias soft power projection , there is still some way to go on that

Their strategic focus remains on posturing against India, which is consistently identified as the primary threat. Should the Afghanistan fail to reciprocate these peace efforts with genuine regards for our security, however, we would be left with no alternative but to resume or continue our current operations.

I don't know anything more than what I see on his account postings, I remember in may there were certain question marks over him based on his very pro Israel tweets, but on Pakistan honestly I can't really see him being other than nationalist, so it's surely interesting this even exists....


So you either take the position that gold is where you find it, especially anything that has an algorithm boost, and Twitter sources are very hard to verify anyway so everything is a pinch of salt, just take tweet for what it is and nothing more

You only allow trusted sources which subsequently narrow what you can post, and then who you think is trusted is not worthy of trust



I remember during may, I would post previously contrarian or hostile sounding voices, but they were supporting, so in some ways does that not give more credence if they change?

Looks likes Afghans are conducting some kind of Aerial bombing exercise using Indian equipment in Kandahar.

Pakistan has agreed to resume talks with the Afghan Taliban at the request of mediator Turkiye, security sources said on Thursday.

A security official said the Pakistani delegation present in Istanbul, where the second round of dialogue between the two countries had begun over the weekend, was about to return but would extend its stay there.
