Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

1. Ahh NACTA - the great while elephant in the room. NACTA was supposed to be a lot of things... But ended up delivering very little.
Remind me again what was moeed yusuf promising about NACTA? Instead managed to get himself embroiled in the whole GB affair - something beyond his remit. NACTA is just inefficient - it needs a good shakedown and the fat needs to be trimmed.

2. And the resistance to that is internal. (yes this is a serious headache) 2025 - promises on NCC and citizen cadre - still undelivered.

3. But the premier agency doesn’t want anyone else to have that overarching role (again correct me if I am wrong).
^ This premier agency is full of blowhards... Believe me, they do not like suggestions - it is populated with blowhards - which is why I wouldn't mind the fat being trimmed like a sharma...

4. Also, they were supposed to build 850 forts and more posts in between.
^Lol...

5. The problem is we sabotage things ourselves from border control, to intelligence fusion, to NAP and then go on firebrand tirades to blame everyone else and their mothers.

^ yes I fully agree with you. It is criminal.
@Areesh, yeh parho. Or continue with the same old affume if you prefer.

You can't change the Afgans as per Allama Iqbal. They didn't recognize Pakistan for a reason. With the help of technology you can make it excruciatingly painful it for them to attack Pskistan. Turkey has shown how to do it against much more sophisticated terrorists in a similarly difficult mountainous geogrsphy....
Bro their life is already difficult their living in stone age. Turkey had the backing economy and peoples approval and clear policy created by the representative peoples goverment.

I agree with you on this with the points mentioned above and thats exactly what i want for my country as well and that is exactly what i mentioned in the post.

Yaar let me tell you a story - around 2009 I was involved in training the rescue service in Mansehra (rescue 1122 didn't exist back then in the area - so we trained some people from the local DCO office).

Photo: The original search and rescue team in Mansehra made up of all community volunteers - tailors, builders, plumbers, some gov servants and the great man in the middle Harir Shah (great man - great humanitarian).

Anyway - so we trained these people right - and the project was funded by a German Government Agency known as GTZ - it is now rebranded to GIZ. Anyways... On the last day we carry out a disaster drill - and the DCO invites the media and everyone else and its a grand affair.

The Germans are really happy because they have just seen their investment start to bear fruit - and they even donated a Search and Rescue Vehicle to the local government - worth Rs. 1 Crore.

So the German head of the mission was a chap by the name of Christian Muller - after the exercise and lunch party - I had a chance to meet Christian again - we were having a nice casual chat and he remarked:

"I don't know if I should laugh or cry" and I inquired... What is the matter?
to which he replied "I have now lived in Pakistan for 3 years - I have learned basic urdu and pashto and fallen in love with your country and your people who are some of the most pure and hospitable people I have met, but your leaders.... "scoffs"..."

"Do you know what the DCO asked me after the lunch meeting?" "He said, thank you for funding the training of our rescue team, equipping them and donating the rescue vehicle" - "But you see, I was wondering, if your agency could see to donating a years worth of cash for fuel that would be most appreciated"...

Straight from the horses mouth.

I felt this small 🤏 as a Pakistani upon hearing this.

This is what is wrong with Pakistan.
In the old PDF you mentioned that you worked with ISAF. I always wanted to thank you for your time and effort. So thank you.

However, lately as with other Pakistanis your tone on Afghans is alarming. You guys need to differentiate between Taliban and Afghans in general.

We didn't want these goat fkrs in the first place, average Afghan can't say or do anything in the face of American M16 or AK47.

A lot of you blame Baloch and Pashtun culture for terrorism and suicide bombing. We've been the same for better or worse for the past 5000 years. Terrorism has been around since the 90's.

You can ignore the facts and elephant in the room, but history won't. Pashtun culture was poisoned by many Madrasas aka Taliban factories. IN Pakistan. Its just now that the chickens are coming home to roost.

That's why I am saying let's see how this aggression will result in. Taliban know they're no match for Pakistan, but they won't be fighting conventional war, but drag Pakistan into a guerrilla warfare inside Pakistan.

Let me get this straight. They can push constitutional amendments through but are powerless to implement NAP?

I mean they are running the show for 4 years with even the judiciary brought under control.

During Raheel Sharif time they pressurised the parliament to pass military courts bill to prosecute terrorists since normal courts are incompetence, it didn't last much long and somehow was finished off, noone says how it failed to continue and why military didn't force it to continue. The same way NAP can be implemented through danda, and why just a simple step of registration of maddrassas cannot be done. It feels like he's saying KPK government doesn't cooperate and it makes security forces job difficult, whilst other governments are more cooperative.

Jani the problem is that if Afghanistan is sincere with Pakistan we will be sincere back - You know about my old posts so you know where I am coming from. We have lost a lot of good people as I am sure you have on your side.

The Taliban makes empty promises, these promises are never delivered - the Taliban FM is busy taking photos with ambulances and sacks of wheat. Are Afghan so quick to forget who has been helping them all these years?

Pakistan is not blameless - I wrote a detailed post on this in this very thread but I would save you the history lesson. If things are to change then either Taliban government make serious steps to ensure ttp cannot use Afghanistan as a launchpad against Pakistan and Pakistan will reciprocate that or Afghanistan regime continues the status quo.

I had friends in Afghanistan one of whom died when the Taliban took over Kabul - The reason I have become more venomous in recent years is because the overtures coming from not just the Taliban but also Ordinary Afghans has been overtly hostile and odious.

You can only tolerate being called a dog so many times before you lash out.

Bahi let it go - he is in jail - all he can do is tweet. Lets focus on bigger fish for now.

So, posts supporting IK or PTI get removed, but IK bashing passes unchecked (even endorsed). The moderators should either uphold the same standard for all or be transparent enough to revise the forum rules accordingly....

The great leader at it again

Actually, he may have a point. At the time, PTI-military relations were at an all time high, and IK had practically handed over all military matters to Bajwa.

It could be argued that IK may not have had a choice in the matter.

Apparently it has for the last 11 years and they've only just realised.

We can say they incompetence or playing politics on this but not in bed. Its like saying Imran Khan is agent, he's been in politics since 1996, came to power with military support and noone clicked on he's an agent, hilarious.

However I do get some points. The governance needs to be improved, NAP must be implemented, terorrism must be finished in KPK and Pakistan. In Balochistan PTI is not in power but terrorism is taking place.

Whoever military chooses to bring in power through the political engineering never had any say they are considered soldiers. You follow the order or you get court marshalled and I am not talking about IK only you look at shareefs Zia brought them but when they started thinking on their own mushy and all others started their prosecution.

Like i always said i have no love loss over IK i just dont like the institiution meddling in public affairs and public domain.

My solution is stay in your own DOMAIN.

Just that small? After hearing that, it should have been the size of a mustard seed.

Biases and prejudices are part of human nature, and moderators are no exception. Their voluntary work in maintaining a space for meaningful dialogue merits recognition. But we must keep reminding them that freedom of speech must extend to those also with whom they disagree...

@RescueRanger
Earlier, you mentioned that Pakistan and the US had credible intelligence suggesting the USSR was advancing toward Pakistan’s warm waters after occupying Afghanistan... Could you please share a credible source to substantiate that claim? None of the available Soviet archives or declassified documents make any such reference.
