There is absolutely nothing to be gained from Pakistan proving it is militarily superior to Afghanistan. Any conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan is a gift to India. Even if it could be said that Afghanistan (Emirate or Republic) are the aggressor and 100% responsible for the onset of hostilities, it's difficult to see how an escalation in armed conflict benefits Pakistan.

India is having a field day with this. We will likely move resources to western border to handle it but India will learn a lot from this for their next encounter.
