That first strike looked like a warning which they heeded.
The second was devastating.

I hope there is calm and peace coming.

Slow down tiger.

Invade Afghanistan? That would be reckless. Mods and Think Tanks may be the right experts to view it a little more logically.
I would consider that a very very bad option.

My take is that Pakistan has a lot of power but not enough to invade Afghanistan. Because invasion is not just about military might but capability to keep projecting that kind of might for a long duration and deep inside hostile territory.

Let’s assume that Munir does decide to invade and reach Kabul somehow, then what?

Hold on to power? For how long? Does Pakistan have that kind of military and economic resources?

Leave Kabul and pull back? Who would fill that void and would that entity be friendly to Pakistan?

All Pakistani decisions regarding Afghanistan have proven to be strategic disasters till date. It may be a better idea to keep that in mind while planning the next move.

I agree. Everyone knows Afghanistan has militant bases, usa left over 7 billion worth of weapons and alot of them are used against Pakistan by ttp. Pakistan lost soldiers due to attacks and we are only targettint ttp hideouts or any place where attacks are taking place against us. Pakistan may overtake some high peaks for security purposes but will not invade or take afghan territory. We have plenty of land and people, no thanks.

We can push as deep as we want. Afghans have never won against Muslim or Asian adversaries. They have been clobbered by the Uzbeks, Iranians, Mongols, Mughals, Sikhs and Marathas,
War has changed from 400 years ago. Weapons are more available. Suicide bombers are a thing. Armies are larger, its easier to move.

It would be foolish and expensive to try and play the part of an occupying force. It would only be effective if we pushed out all the locals.

Sadly the geniuses in charge ignored and isolated the Tajiks, Hazara, Uzbeks and Turkmen. They placed everything on Afghan extemre Pashtun nationalists who have a huge claim on the Durrand line, I wonder what could go wrong.....Now it it has and I hope it's plain and clear to these stupid lot that whether they play Islamic cosplay Mujahid warriors or they are clean shaven secularists, anyone who has that ideology is on the same page.
