I have a lingering suspicion that the timing of this is related to the plan to impose governor’s rule in KP.

There’s a saying that if you tell one lie you have to tell many more to cover the first one. Similarly, the senseless decision to overthrow an elected government has led to one blunder after another. A huge percentage of the Pakistan’s population had to be suppressed, especially the Pakhtuns. The TTP, which by definition consists of Pakistanis, probably got a huge surge in volunteers.

Suppressing people’s rights has driven them to join terrorists whose leadership could well be funded by Indians/Israelis. So, while they crushed peaceful protests by women and children, now they have to deal with armed terrorists.

I just don’t see this problem being fixed without Pakistan’s internal political and economic problems being fixed first.

Otherwise, like the saying goes. Lagay raho.

It won't be just "lage raho".. if this continues on for some more time (a year or so), people's life in KP would become more miserable which currently already is as forces have left them to the wolves (TTP) in villages and even city centers. As more time passes, youth would become more disenfranchised (no job/ labor opportunities and so on), more and more people would be willing to join the TTP ranks..

Again as I said, I am not sure anymore if correct intelligence reports are being sent upwards by the local commanders in KP anymore, or the higher command doesn't care enough maybe or are just taking it lightly..

Sadly the geniuses in charge ignored and isolated the Tajiks, Hazara, Uzbeks and Turkmen. They placed everything on Afghan extemre Pashtun nationalists who have a huge claim on the Durrand line, I wonder what could go wrong.....Now it it has and I hope it's plain and clear to these stupid lot that whether they play Islamic cosplay Mujahid warriors or they are clean shaven secularists, anyone who has that ideology is on the same page.

For the Tajikis, Uzbeks, Hazaras, Turkmen, it's better to recognise the border or else Pashtuns will become more dominant. These people are actually moderate Muslims, I met a few people, nice people. The only reason they have hatred for Pakistan is because we supported Taliban who in turn oppressed these people. We do need to be careful though, the Taliban are a militia but Northern Alliance in power will build an army. Pakistan can bring Turkey Iran and all its neighbours together and support a unity national government, a government which wants to live peacefully and not cause any issues.
