No one has gained strategic depth in Afghanistan since the Mughals, Iranians, Marathas, and finally Sikhs,
The Soviets failed as did the British before them in the "great game"
Pakistan is under no illusion of strategic depth. In the modern era even a country like Israel with no strategic depth can defend itself.
Pakistan merely wants a non-interference and cessation of terrorism from Afghanistan, If the Taliban don't listen then the responsibility for the consequences are theirs alone
