This is giving Pakistan valuable experience in FPV drone warfare. Russia and Ukraine did it with really heavy losses. Pakistan is getting all of that experience practically for free, at zero risk. Pak Army might be the 3rd army in the world after Russia and Ukraine, who are getting this skill. That's the point. By occupying more definable areas you can hold larger terrain with less troops.
And yes, the military has A history of caring what the political environment is and what the prevailing opinion is? Right?
Afghanistan current war capability
Tanks (main battle tanks) — ~100 T-62 (still seen in parades; many are legacy Soviet-era tanks).
Infantry fighting / armoured personnel carriers — BMP-1 ≈ 350; BMP-2 ≈ 150 (legacy Soviet vehicles).
Towed field howitzers (122 mm M-30) — ≈232.
Towed 122 mm D-30 howitzers — ≈80 reported in lists (some reports say ~200 being repaired / returned to service).
Multiple-rocket launchers (e.g., BM-21 Grad) — small numbers reported (7+) in public lists
equipment is useless without trained professionals and i doubt they have ammunitions for these tanksAfghanistan current war capability
