Days after a brief period of calm along the Pak-Afghan border, fresh clashes erupted in the Kurram sector as Pakistani security forces retaliated against unprovoked firing from Afghan Taliban regime and members of the militant group “Fitna al-Khawarij,” security sources confirmed on Tuesday.
According to the sources, Afghan Taliban fighters opened indiscriminate fire on Pakistani positions, prompting a strong and decisive response from the Pakistan Army. The retaliatory strikes reportedly inflicted significant damage on multiple Taliban posts, with fires breaking out across the border.
Security officials said two Taliban tanks were destroyed, and fighters were seen fleeing their positions, leaving behind several bodies of their fallen comrades.
In another engagement within the Kurram sector, the Army targeted and destroyed another Taliban post and tank position with precision fire.
During what officials described as a “highly professional and skilful operation,” a moving Taliban tank was struck and destroyed. Footage of the destroyed tank is reportedly available.
The latest exchange followed a two-day lull, with sources confirming that another Taliban post and tank position were eliminated in the ongoing operations. In an intense engagement at the Shamshad post, the Army destroyed a fourth tank position within an hour, underscoring the pace and intensity of the response.
Security sources further confirmed that in Afghanistan’s Khost province, a fifth tank position at Nargasar Post was also destroyed along with the tank and its crew.
Pakistan’s security forces also reportedly killed a key commander of Fitna al-Khawarij during the ongoing action. The militant fighters — both Taliban regime and their affiliates — were said to be in a state of panic and disarray, abandoning their posts in haste.
According to security officials, military operations against the Afghan Taliban and Fitna al-Khawarij are continuing with full force, focusing on eliminating hostile threats near the border and ensuring regional security.
The renewed fighting follows last week’s confrontation on the night of October 11–12, when Afghan Taliban forces, supported by “Indian-sponsored elements of Fitna al-Khawarij,” launched an unprovoked attack along the border.

This is giving Pakistan valuable experience in FPV drone warfare. Russia and Ukraine did it with really heavy losses. Pakistan is getting all of that experience practically for free, at zero risk. Pak Army might be the 3rd army in the world after Russia and Ukraine, who are getting this skill.
From the quality of videos ISPR is publishing, it looks like India actually gave a free FPV drone training opportunity to Pakistan. This capability will be nightmare for India in any potential future war. I can already picture the Indian generals watching all of these videos and slapping themselves at what they have done !
As usual the BJP govt keeps shooting India in the foot. I would love to see the day when GD Bakshi falls form his chair shouting about why they let Pakistan get expert at this.

TORKHAM: Border trade with Afghanistan remained suspended for a third day running on Tuesday as Pakistan closed crossings along the 2,600-km frontier after deadly weekend clashes, stranding scores of loaded goods vehicles on either side.
Meanwhile, Pakistani troops remained on high alert following fierce clashes between the two sides that resulted in the martyrdom of 23 soldiers and left over 200 Taliban fighters dead, including a number of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan terrorists.
"All entry points are closed since Saturday following unprovoked attacks by the Afghan Taliban forces," a senior security official said.
A second security official said there were a few incidents of exchange of small arms fire on Sunday night, but the overall situation was calm.
Enayatullah Khowarazmi, Afghanistan's defence ministry spokesperson, told Reuters that the "current situation" on the border was normal, but did not share details.
With border crossings for vehicles and pedestrians closed, all government offices on the border dealing with trade and other administrative issues had been shut, a senior government official said.
"Loaded vehicles, including containers and trucks, are stuck on both sides of the border," said Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, senior vice president of the Pak-Afghan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

It was not clear when the border might reopen.
Though the Chaman border crossing was closed for trade, authorities briefly allowed about 1,500 Afghan nationals stranded there since Sunday to return home on foot, government officer Imtiaz Ali said.
Torkham, however, remained closed to all travel and trade. The closure was confirmed by Mujib Ullah, a representative for local traders.
Afghan refugees, including many who were waiting to leave Pakistan because of a crackdown on foreigners living in the country illegally, said they had been waiting at the Torkham crossing since Sunday.
Gul Rahman, a refugee, said he waited through Sunday at Torkham before returning with his family to the northwestern city of Peshawar.
