Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

@Master Chief

Beautifully written as always, but I had a few points.

Why would Delhi immediately flip flop, in complete disregard for a hitherto carefully nurtured alliance with non-Talib factions?

There was no immediate flip flop. The relations with Talibs have been building up over a period of time. Even during the Sindoor War, AFG had lent moral support to us.

Pakistan has already materially and effectively defeated your new ally

No one can beat the Taliban. They are unbeatable because of the way they operate.

The entire world would rather see a non-Talib movement sitting in Kabul

From when did Pakistan become the "entire world"

This is so very much what illiterate prime ministers deliver

If your beloved PM Cherry B's speech in Sharm el Shaikh the other day was anything to go by, I would prefer an illiterate chaiwallah as PM any day.

Regards

Secularism in the Islamic world has usually been forced from the top by governments. Major causes include WoT, Arab Spring etc. Biggest gains in places like Iran, retreats in places like Syria and Turkey. In the West, Secularism is on the retreat, even if due to culture wars (even Dawkins is now a "cultural Christian").
The issue with Pakistan is different. Unlike Christianity, Islam doesn't have a clergy/molvi class. We landed with one due historical reasons, post-colonisation. Since Pakistan is a secular state pretending to be an Islamic state, it still needs the molvi class as a buffer between it and a majority religious population. Iqbals's, "Mullah ko hai Hind main sajde ki azaadi, nadan samajta hai Islam azaad hai", is a criticism of this class. People can sense the problem but aren't educated enough to diagnose it, so the contradiction bursts out in form of mob violence. If you don't want molvi thuggery, either become an actual Islamic state (with separate legal system for minorities) and abolish the molvi class, or go full communist and destroy your people's identity like the Russians did in central Asia.
Good post ..... it's pretty sensitive subject , I don't have the balls to express myself freely....I will desist further discussion.....

Not long ago it was India whining about a taliban govt in Afghanistan and suddenly now you become the entire world that doesnt want a non talib govt in Afghanistan!

, I would prefer an illiterate chaiwallah as PM any day.
We know, chaiwala isnt an insult but talk about a person who was banned in UK and US for 10 years for religious intolerance in Gujrat pogrom is 3rd time PM of largest "democracy" in the world. We know !

On a lighter note,

@gamaji

after India was defeated by Pakistan.

If it was IND which lost the Sindoor War, why did PAK award the Nobel Prize to Trump? Makes no sense.

That means India cannot directly fight Pakistan of its own and so Modi has started licking the feet of the same Taliban that he used to call them terrorists.

How is offering Taliban a military alliance "licking the feet". Are you licking China's feet?

It's a humiliation for Modi and Indians of its own. Coward Modi needs Taliban's help to face Pakistan.

Wise, not coward. Why fight PAK and have some casualty to infra and soldiers when you can have someone else do the job for you and that too at a limited cost?

The reality is that Taliban's Afghanistan is currently hosting a bunch of global terrorist groups that pose a grave threat to the world peace.

The global terror groups which are in AFG-like ISIS-K are there inspite of Talibans opposition and not because of them. Taliban are a peace-loving Islamic group which seeks to implement (not impose) a Shariah based state in the greater Afghan homeland stretching from the Indus to the Oxus.

Nada so far, nothing on the Afghanistan side too. Even anti Taliban sources have nothing to show for.
Besides some AI videos on X, sounds like it was a drill for the Bagram base takeover for the Americans.
The backfire, we'll witness it within couple of weeks.
It was good to see the Taliban humiliated and made realize that Pakistan is an enemy not an ally.

Pakistan struck Aghanistan at will. The Taliban, TTP and India have been put on notice. The message is clear. We will strike again, again and again until terrorist attacks stop.

I like the ambiguity. Let it be unclear. It serves the purpose very well.
Our denial doesn't matter. Pak played stupidly. If the elimination was the goal, Pak should have remained silent (army+politicians+media). Pak provoked a response by humiliating the Taliban in the media. They retaliated in a way they could, and then the clash started.

It appears we cared more about PR and chest thumping than killing terrorists or serving Pakistan's interests. Israel never claims that it killed Hamas leader in the UAE or Tehran etc.

The goal was to attack Afghanistan and put all nefarious elements on notice. We got the world's attention. We got everyone's attention.

It is a bonus if high value targets got smoked.
