In offboard or remote targeting, the shooter in EMCON never locks on the target. It gets targeting data through CEC from AEWACS or another fighter. Similarly, mid-course guidance can be given to PL-15 by other assets or fighter radar modes that don't trigger adversary's RWR.

LMAO...in the pictures they literally show the ground station jamming SU30s/Satellites/A-50 AWACs.....indicating it has been used against or intended for IAF.

Not directly from ERIEYE to PL15, but from the screen shots, it seems it was more like ERIEYE sends the target track data to whatever adaptor/Link-16 to Link 17 interface which then uploads it to J-10 to forward onward to PL15.......this completes the overall picture i had in mind that ERIEYE targeting data can be eventually used to guide PL15s......and by this methodology can be used to guide other weapons as well.

The aim should be that you have centralized node combining and receiving data from all sources, including long range SAM systems and then use the best quality/corrected one for onward guidance.

PL15s or similar missiles will need mid course guidance not to the dot precision but just enough that eventually the target lies in their NEZ and via their own onboard active seeker can fly the last miles to the target itself.

A decade or so ago I had staed that the chinese air force was in a stair step progression of their 5th gen aircraft---.

J-20 was the first aircraft---and what they learnt from it---the J-35 gained from that---.

I had also stated that the J-20 was available to PAF---and many an insults got hurled my way.

Now it is in the open---. As a matter of fact PAF had turned that aircraft down in favor of the J-35---.

Good luck with the confirmation of the news guys---.

I was sitting with two former PAF officials today, one of them was an air chief a couple of years ago. This topic came up, and they did mention that there are certain aircraft China wouldn't openly sell until Pakistan as itself has a bit more to give back similarly to how they'd do for the US when it comes to certain interests....

And as far as quality is concerned, they learned their lessons in picking certain Chinese aircraft in the past where pilot's evaluations weren't necessarily the best indicators (after all none were engineering or experimental test pilots). The bulk of the requirements have come extensively through lessons learned on the F-16 program, subsequently on JF-17s and then on the decisions to obtain the J-10CP...and potentially J-35A once it is mature enough......
