- cheaper
- can carry more of them
- lower RCS

the only advantage a bigger missile brings is a larger warhead, which isn't that important for SEAD since you are only taking out radars

And the difference in RCS would be pretty substantial given the size difference
The biggest advantage Is it's range of 400kms and speed of over mach 4.5

Smaller missiles can be just as fast (look at AAMs). Range yes i should have mentioned is a compromise. But once you have dismantled enemy AD closer to the border you can start penetrating enemy airspace to hit deeper and deeper. Adampur and Bhuj are just 100-120 km from the border btw.

@side-winder do we rehearse for such scenarios and can they do this.

Indians don't realise the difference between limited scale engagement and opening a can of whup-ass for themselves. Nevertheless, getting their @$$ handed to them by PAF logically leads them to plan on striking PAF nerve centers.

PAF conducts ORIs (operational readiness inspections) of each base every year through I&E branch headed by a 2 star. The team visits each base - simulated scenerios are given to base and response of base as a team is checked. It's one of the most important parameters for promotion of a Base Cdr from Air Cdre to AVM.

The scenerios include air raids at odd times resulting in destruction of XYZ facilities / equipment / loss of men - subsequently base is given certain tasks - for example launch X sorties, restore damaged equipment / facilities through backups or other arrangements etc.

can they do this.

Ofcourse - it's not about capability- it's about calculation of escalation matrix - any such attempt will be responded with equally destructive firepower.

P.S two missiles which landed on Mushaf runway on 10th May were launched from Surat Garh. (SSM BrahMos).

An idiotic tweet. This account's operater must be thinking that by posting such rubbish he is doing some psychological operation against Pakistan & would creat fear hence this will increase the validity in the eyes of Indian online defense enthusiast community.

Idiot ....

tbh the PAF assumes as much (if not more), which is why they're tuning the SR/MR-SAM requirement to deal with this. Now, it's not just about the tech, but also dealing with India's SOW intensity, which will require magazine depth via domestic production.

Things that were deemed 'nice-to-have, but not essential' -- e.g., C-RAM, PDMS, etc, etc. -- are all up for thorough evaluation now.

The second paragraph hits hard. We wasted a lot of time because on certain capabilities because of this mindset.

Has the PAF also procured the LD-8A anti-radiation missile?

The LD-8A anti-radiation missile is based on the PL-15 air-to-air missile. All of China's current main fighter jets can carry it. Furthermore, it can be carried and launched by medium- to large-sized UAVs. Therefore, the PAF's JF-17 and J-10CE fighter jets, as well as other medium- to large-sized UAVs of Chinese descent, can use it.

General Specifications (Unofficial):
Length: 3200mm
Diameter: 180mm (excluding missile wings)
Weight: 130kg (including 30kg of warhead)
Maximum Attack Range: Approximately 160km (This one! Think for yourself!)

Now that China seems to have moved on to more advanced AAMs (such as PL-17 and beyond), is it possible for Pakistan to get ToT for PL-15 from the iron brothers and then come up with its new variants (such as anti-radiation, anti ship, and air to ground missiles) on its own?
