At a ceremony held at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir received the Hilal-e-Jurat for leading the Pakistan Army from the front and formulating war strategy, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu was awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.

Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Sahir Shamshad Mirza, Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, were conferred the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, and DG ISI Lt Gen Asim Malik was awarded the Sitara-e-Basalat.

Director General Military Operations (DGMO) of Pakistan Major General Kashif Abdullah, Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed, and Rear Admiral Shahzad Hamid received the Tamgha-e-Basalat.

Among the political leadership, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Head of Parliamentary Diplomatic Committee, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and the PM’s adviser Rana Sanaullah were presented the Nishan-e-Imtiaz.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, ministers and parliamentarians Ahsan Iqbal, Sherry Rehman, Faisal Sabzwari, Musadik Malik, and Hina Rabbani Khar, along with Tariq Fatemi and Khurram Dastgir Khan, were also decorated with top civil awards.

Now, if Modi or someone similar, TTP/BLA is imposing on us, then we cannot avoid it for sure. Continue this line, we cannot win anyway in the end or adversary like India cripple itself if we are not growing.

Why should there be any shame? What wrong has the military done by asking the government for a one-time bonus for its ranks? Why should the military be an exception when the rest of the nation is getting subsidies including public (Benazir Income Card etc.), public sector entities, agriculture and bureaucracy?
Reality - Every jawan, NCO, officer is paying his/her share of the taxes to the national kitty when the vast majority of free-loaders (haram-khors in the vernacular) are moaning about the fauj.
Fauj, with close to a million personnel, makes up 10% of the 10 million taxpayers in this nation of ours. Where are the rest of the 150-200 million free-loaders? So give this comical fauj bashing a break.

Most living in DHAs are civilian Pakistanis and not faujis. I know this because I lived there.

The government should continue to fund the needs of the armed forces given the threats faced by the country. Absolutely no shame in this game. Well done GoP!
