Establishment is to be blamed for a lot of things but it can't be blamed for a party choosing to be anti-Pakistan. How does persecution of a political party forces it to become anti-state and aligns with people who don't even recognize your territorial borders? Doesn't that defeats the purpose of the political fight for upholding the Constitution and integrity of the country?

First of all PTI is not anti state. Period. While Achak Zai stand on democracy is 100% correct but his views on Durrand line and Afghanistan is against Pakistan's soverignity. All political parties use such personalities/groups/small parties to forward their specific agenda, doesn't mean they agree with them in all the matters. Just like PTM/Mohsin Dawar types were darling of PPP/PMLN during vote of no confidence against IK. So now ask current setup (both govt & establishment) why were PTM was accomodated that time?

Exactly! Pakistan’s military establishment is deliberately cornering Pakistan’s biggest party for the past few years. And then they have the audacity to cry foul when that party acts out of desperation.

I would agree with you, before 2025. Asim Munir did spend all his time going after the PTI, than doing anything else. But it is very odd for me to see that in the face of huge threats/deaths of our soldiers from Afghanistan, Imran Khan and the PTI has not once spoken in favor of our martyrs/Pakistan/Pakistan’s territorial integrity, and always spoken up for Afghans/Afghanistan.

Either the PTI/Imran Khan loves Afghans too much, or Imran Khan’s ego is so much that even Pakistan isn’t that important (hence, making the PTI/Imran Khan a threat to Pakistan).

I always thought the PTI/Imran Khan were patriots, but 2025 really changed my mind about them.

Dr A.Q.Khan was also treated badly by the Musharraf government, scapegoated for nuclear proliferation and put under house arrest, but never did he speak out against Pakistan.

All Afghans are, and have always been anti-Pakistan.

The Pakistani military establishment made a calculation that the Afghan Taliban, which was mainly made up of Afghan Pashtuns; had more affinity and support from Pakistani Pashtuns/Pakhtuns, hence safer to side with them.

I have read your post about why you don’t understand the PTI’s views on Afghanistan. But in the same body of the post, it seems you are trying to justify their anti-state behavior. There is NO excuse for their anti Pakistan behavior, Imran Khan being wrongfully imprisoned or not. Pakistan is bigger than Imran Khan. Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan was scapegoated and treated very badly by the Musharraf regime, put under house arrest, but never was anti Pakistan

Wasn't it the same Achakzai who was part of the PDM which toppled PTI government? Politicians change sides. At the moment PTI is turning towards Pashtun nationalists in order to survive or else they have been isolated in Pakistan through deliberate means.

Devil is in the details. Maybe Achakzai was a one man show joining PDM protests but never given the role of the Leader of the Opposition. Also, the Punjabi chauvinism the Noonies once, and briefly adapted, is absent while Imran's politics since early 2000s is being an apologist for the Taliban. So there is a big difference between Imran's hypocrisy and opportunism of a quarter century vs the other opportunists.

Also those, who hold the Judiciary in such high regard, may want to ponder how much damage to Pakistan one lone Mr. Suo-Moto Mr. Iftikhar Chaudhry did while he was made a hero by the likes of Imran and Nawaz just to topple Musharraf. Much can be said about the Superior Courts' judges--much bad things!
