PM Shehbaz also stressed that AI and IT remained among Pakistan’s top-most priorities. The prime minister also took note of the “vast investment opportunities” in SEZs, inviting Chinese investors to visit the first Special Economic Zone near Port Qasim in Karachi, PMO said.

“Over 150 companies and their representatives attended the thematic meeting about cross-border industrial belt practices and further promoting China-Pakistan industrial collaboration,” the PMO statement read.

The premier also visited the Chinese Academy of Agriculture Sciences in Beijing, where he asserted that the two nations must expand their “ironclad brotherhood” to cooperation in agriculture, industry, research and development.

Referring to an MoU signed with the academy, PM Shehbaz stressed that it needed a “strong push”, stating, “I give you my irrevocable commitment that I will work with you and your team to achieve all those milestones in our agricultural sector which we have been longing for ages”.

The premier noted that Pakistan’s Agriculture Research Centre remained “dormant”. In that regard, he invited the Chinese academy to take on the management of the institutions and “bring in the world’s finest scientists” to the centre.

PM Shehbaz also announced that Pakistan, in collaboration with the Chinese government, will be sending 1,000 fresh agriculture graduates “from all four provinces” to Chinese universities for “fresher courses and modern training and modern areas of agriculture”.

Recalling his meeting with the Chinese leadership from a day ago, the premier said that the two sides reiterated their commitment to “accelerate CPEC 2.0, and agriculture tops the list”.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan was invited to visit China. The Joint Statement signed by both sides clearly states that both parties will further deepen coordination and cooperation in multilateral settings.

China and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral military cooperation and strategic coordination, with the Chinese Defence Ministry describing the relationship between the two countries as an enduring iron-clad friendship.

Speaking at the monthly press briefing on Thursday, Chinese Defence Ministry Spokesman Colonel Jiang Bin commented on the recent high-level exchanges between the two countries during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s official visit to China.

Responding to a question regarding meetings between Chinese and Pakistani leaders and military officials, Colonel Jiang Bin said China and Pakistan were good neighbours linked by mountains and rivers, good friends who trust each other, good partners who support each other, and good brothers who stand together in difficult times.

Colonel Jiang Bin highlighted the close military ties between the two countries and said practical cooperation has yielded fruitful results in the areas of strategic communication, joint exercises and training, personnel exchanges, and defence equipment and technology cooperation.

He said a series of joint military exercises between the armies, navies and air forces of the two countries, including the ‘Warriors’, ‘Ocean Guards’, and ‘Eagles’ exercises, have become hallmark projects of bilateral defence cooperation.

The spokesman said China was willing to work with Pakistan under the strategic guidance of the leaders of both countries to carry forward traditional friendship, enhance strategic communication, deepen practical cooperation, and firmly support each other on issues concerning core interests.

He added that both sides would continue to elevate military-to-military relations and contribute to building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era, while jointly promoting regional and global peace, development and security.

Colonel Jiang Bin noted that in the 75 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the friendship between the two countries has withstood changes in the international landscape and continued to deepen among the peoples of both nations.

Pakistani friends often describe China-Pakistan friendship as ‘Higher than the mountains, deeper than the oceans and sweeter than honey,’ while the Chinese people affectionately refer to Pakistan as ‘Iron Pakistan’, he said.

Even more deepening of military cooperation? I wonder what that could mean.

You mean those new fatah missiles Pakistan tested?
No.

Simply put, it means that various combat forces on the battlefield span different combat domains such as land, sea, air, space, electronic, and cyber, constructing a multi-domain integrated all-dimensional combat system.
