Pakistan Closes Airspace to Taiwanese Airlines in Support of China

I remember @Michael had reacted very negatively to Pakistanis discussing or showing any support for China's internal matters. Some times I think he is an agent, who wants China Pakistan relations to tank.
Regardless of your personal views, Chinese culture holds a strong aversion to outsiders interfering in one’s private family affairs—no matter what their stance or position might be.

There is an old Chinese saying: "清官难断家务事(Even an upright official finds it difficult to settle family disputes)." This is closely linked to another cultural maxim: "家丑不可外扬(Family scandals should not be aired in public)."

Consequently, traditional Chinese people are extremely wary of sharing family secrets in public settings. It is very difficult for outsiders to truly grasp what is happening behind closed doors; we regard such matters as strictly private.

China's internal affairs are simply China's domestic matters. Regardless of the position—whether in support or opposition—the Chinese people would not welcome any outside intervention in such matters. The Taiwan question is an internal affair of China. We have the full capability and confidence to resolve it ourselves.

Suppose you get into an argument with your wife—that’s a private domestic matter. But if your good friend gets involved, speaks up for you, and gives your wife a good scolding. How would you feel about that?

So did China snub India on its plan to use Xinjiang to bypass Pakistan?

So did China snub India on its plan to use Xinjiang to bypass Pakistan?

they didn't get permission and that decision won't be changing anytime soon.

And on this decision, i'm sure both countries are together and have approved this.

Now that Eva Air will change its name to Eva Air China and then they can overfly again..

Pakistan has barred Taiwanese airlines from flying through its airspace in line with its One-China policy, becoming the first country in the world to take such a step, Bloomberg reported.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif confirmed the move, saying only carriers from mainland China are allowed to fly over Pakistan.

Taiwanese Flights Now Rerouted

Flight-tracking data from Flightradar24 shows that China Airlines and EVA Air have not flown over Pakistan since the morning of October 25.

Since then, at least a dozen of their flights between Asia and Europe have been routed over Russia instead. The longer routes add flying time and fuel costs on these services.

Both airlines declined to comment on the change. Taiwan’s Civil Aeronautics Administration did not comment on the rerouting either, but said it has never banned airlines from flying over Russia.

Stricter Than China Itself

Pakistan’s restriction goes further than Beijing’s own rules, as mainland China still allows Taiwanese airlines to use its airspace.

Islamabad has recognised Beijing as the sole government of China since the early 1950s and does not have formal ties with Taiwan.

The decision reflects the close economic and military relationship between the two countries.

China has invested heavily in Pakistan under its Belt and Road Initiative, while Chinese-made J-10C fighter jets supplied to Pakistan played a role in the 2025 conflict with India.

Pakistan has also kept its airspace closed to Indian airlines since that conflict, a ban that has reportedly cost Indian carriers around $2 billion. Earlier this month, the government extended that ban till November 24.

Excellent. No doubt we support China in this matter.

Taiwan’s (ROC) Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a protest a few hours ago. In essence, it condemned Pakistan for politicizing its airspace, stating that the Republic of China (Taiwan) is a sovereign and independent country and has never been subordinate to the People’s Republic of China. This is an undeniable objective fact and the status quo across the Taiwan Strait.

As forum member Michael rightly pointed out, when it comes to cross-strait issues, the Chinese mainland government targets “Taiwan independence” and even explicitly names specific pro-independence figures, rather than targeting ordinary Taiwanese people.

The clearest example is that China imports large quantities of agricultural and fishery products from Taiwan, even though most Taiwanese farmers and fishermen tend to support the pro-US, pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), which is currently in power in Taiwan.
In other words, even though these ordinary Taiwanese people may vote for a pro-independence party, the Chinese mainland government still extends goodwill toward them.

In its official language and education system, the Chinese mainland government directly refers to Taiwanese people as “compatriots.” As a result, many people from the mainland do not harbor hostility toward Taiwanese people. On the contrary, they have a favorable impression of them.

On the Taiwanese side, many Taiwanese people are also curious about the Chinese mainland, especially since the mainland has now surpassed Taiwan in many fields.
Many Taiwanese people visit mainland Chinese video platforms to see what people on the mainland are doing and what they are interested in. Although they rarely participate in discussions, whenever a video is related to Taiwan, the comment section suddenly fills with Taiwanese users, often to the surprise of mainland viewers.
The two sides then start interacting, joking with each other, asking questions, and clearing up each other’s misunderstandings. The atmosphere is actually quite friendly and lively.

The influence of the Chinese mainland on Taiwan will only continue to grow, especially in areas related to everyday life, such as film, television, entertainment, and food.
Memes that become popular on the mainland often catch on among Taiwanese people just a few days later.

After all, people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are Chinese, share the same ancestors, and have much of their history, culture, customs, and traditional festivals in common.

On a side note, I often see anti-China voices online claiming that the Chinese mainland is a paper tiger because it does not dare to use force against Taiwan.

In reality, however, the mainland government prioritizes peaceful reunification, unless Taiwan declares independence and thereby causes the country to split.

P.S.
I personally have no objection to Pakistan’s measure because I dislike Taiwan’s current pro-US, pro-independence government.....😆:pakistan:

We were very much proving that we can remain neutral but here we go.

Has China promised Kashmir? Else China is capable of handling Taiwan on its own, we could have shown diplomatic support as usual and behind the closed doors thing, but why do this.

Got to agree with you...he is very suspicious character.

In my view, Michael is not an agent. He just loves China very much.
