The US military obeys orders from the President via the Secretary of Defense. The operational control of the military is in the hands of the commanders of the various Combatant commands like Africa Command or Europe or Pacific or Central in Mideast etc.

With the exception of the SecDef who sits in the Pentagon, nobody else issues any commands. 99% of the Pentagon is busy with day to day stuff like procurement, salaries, medical care, retirement benefits of soldiers etc.

Previously it was just a ceremonial title that some insecure retard gave himself to stroke his ego but now it's recognized by the "Constitution" Essentially it allows el Sisi to remain in power even after his term COAS is over either as Chief of defence Forces or whatever or some other title, realistically this farce is going to last at most a year or two until ASS-im ends up declaring himself president anyway.

COAS is now Chief of defense forces. The point still stands that there is no document in government which outlines or grants roles to FM. The documents wording that "Upon completion of the term of his command, under the law, the Federal Government shall determine the responsibilities and duties of Field Marshal" makes it sound like that FM in of itself does not have any power and responsibility additional to the COAS's power whilst serving as COAS. Could any lawyers here shed more light on this? Also interesting to note that all the provisions that have been granted to FM are also being granted to Marshal of the Air force and admiral of the fleet.

If they make munir chief for life, then all of those involved should be hanged obviously all crops commanders and especially including the judiciary and people who voted for it. This is no less then ending Pakistan
Because when it ends in 10-20 years it will be very bloody

Technically its already hybrid, All uniformed services report to Civilian. Both just need to their job within their boundaries and follow the chain of command, not only within uniformed services but also when Chiefs reports to elected civilians.


Policies can be made, discussions can happen and move forward with best options available.

In Pakistan center of Power has become COAS, a single person, which became a problem most of the times.

Its 2025, Roles of different Arms have changed, integration and cohesion has become the key. Favoring one while its role in battle field has changed, is unwise.

I understand, COAS is favored because he controls the men on the ground and Intelligence agencies (Intelligence reports to a Civi too) which can be used against political opponents and whatever........

But Point here is, All the infrastructure is there, what needs to be done is, use and function as it suppose to be.

An example of Police, LEA and justice system.......All the Laws, rules and regulations are there, what missing is, Implementation.

A corrupt or dishonest Boss can not demand Honesty and rule of law from his subordinates.
