Pakistan will tour England for a three-match Test series in August-September 2026, the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) announced on Thursday as part of its home international schedule for next summer.

The series will begin on August 19 at Headingley, Leeds, followed by the second Test at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London from August 27, and the third and final Test will be played at Edgbaston, Birmingham, starting September 9.

The tour will mark Pakistan’s return to England for a red-ball contest after a gap of nearly three years, as the two sides last met in a Test series in England in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Pakistan’s visit is part of a busy home summer for England, which also includes a three-Test series against New Zealand in June.

In addition, India and Sri Lanka will tour England for limited-overs matches following their joint hosting of the ICC T20 World Cup early next year.

“It’s terrific to see so many different nations coming over to compete, and we can expect another summer of big crowds and fantastic cricket,” ECB Chief Executive Officer Richard Gould said in a statement, according to Reuters.

The upcoming series against Pakistan will be a key part of the ICC World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle for both teams. Fixtures and squad details are expected to be announced closer to the tour.

India Champions have refused to play their semi-final against Pakistan Champions in the World Championship of Legends due to strained political relations between the two countries.

The match was scheduled to be played in Birmingham on Thursday; Pakistan Champions will progress to the final and play the winner of the second semi-final between Australia Champions and South Africa Champions.

The India Champions team, which includes players such as Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina, Harbhajan Singh, Piyush Chawla, Yusuf Pathan, Robin Uthappa, had also refused to play their group match against Pakistan Champions on July 20.

While the teams had shared points on that occasion, Pakistan Champions progressed to the final after India Champions refused to play the semi-final because they finished top of the group with nine points.

India Champions had placed fourth with three points.

Sporting relations between India and Pakistan have deteriorated due to the terror attack in Pahalgam in Jammu & Kashmir in April this year, and the military skirmish that followed between the two.

While the international teams of India and Pakistan have not yet faced each other since then, the men's teams are due to face each other in the Asia Cup in the UAE on September 14, while the women's teams have their ODI World Cup match in Colombo on October 6.

"We are geared up to win the title. We aren't boycotting the Semi Final. We reached there by playing good cricket. We deserved to play Semi Final so we won't give easy passage for Final to any random team."
Indian Captain

Sahibzada Farhan and Saim Ayub combined for a 138 opening partnership and Pakistan defeated the West Indies by 13 runs on Sunday to capture their T20 International Series.

Pakistan won the series opener by 14 runs but dropped the second match by two wickets to set up a Sunday night decider at Lauderhill, Florida.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat first, Pakistan were rewarded with a powerhouse performance by Farhan and Ayub.

Pakistan went 189 for four as Farhan hammered the hosts for 74 runs on 53 balls, smashing five sixes and three fours, while Ayub lasted 19 overs, finishing on 66 from 49 balls with two sixes and four fours.

Farhan was caught by West Indies captain Shai Hope at long off from a delivery by Shamar Joseph on the second ball of the 17th over.

Hasan Nawaz entered but was retired after only 15 runs, caught by Romario Shepherd at long off from a delivery by Roston Chase on the penultimate ball of the 18th over.

Mohammad Haris was run out for only two runs by Gudakesh Motie to start the 19th over and Ayub finally exited on the last ball of the penultimate over, Jason Holder’s delivery grabbed by Sherfane Rutherford at sweeper cover.

Set 190 to win, West Indies struck for 30 runs on the first 10 balls from Hasan Ali and Mohammad Nawaz.

Jewel Andrew was caught by Hasan Ali at long on, bowled by Haris Rauf for 24, the first West Indies wicket falling at 44.

Ayub caught Hope bowled out by Nawaz for seven in the ninth over with the hosts still 116 runs from victory.

Alick Athanaze lasted 13 overs before being taken for 60, caught by Khushdil Shah bowled by Ayub with West Indies on 110, needing 80 runs off the last 42 deliveries.

Chase was retired on the last ball of the 17th over and his replacement, last-ball hero Holder from the win a night earlier, was bowled out by Sufiyan Muqeem two balls later for a duck, leaving the hosts 41 runs shy with 16 balls remaining.

Rutherford smashed a six to reach a half-century with seven balls remaining before exiting on 51 as West Indies couldn’t pull off another last-over comeback.

President Asif Ali Zardari congratulated the cricket team on its win, praising players’ determination and teamwork.

“Pakistani players won hearts by playing their best game,” he said in a statement. “Hopefully, the national team will continue to achieve successes in the future.”

Hasan Nawaz made a triumphant one-day international (ODI) debut, going 63 not out on Friday to power Pakistan over the West Indies by five wickets in their ODI series opener.

Nawaz and Hussain Talat formed a sixth-wicket partnership of 104 not out to rally the visitors in the day-night affair, with game two on Sunday and the final ODI on Tuesday.

West Indies went 280 all out with Evin Lewis leading the way on 60 from 62 balls with three sixes and five fours, while Shai Hope added 55 and Roston Chase contributed 53.

Needing 281 to win, Pakistan got 53 runs from Mohammad Rizwan before he was bowled lbw by Shamar Joseph in the 38th over with the visitors still 101 runs shy of victory, setting the stage for heroics by Nawaz and Talat.

Nawaz struck for six on the second ball of the 49th over and blasted the winning shot to the boundary off the final delivery by Joseph, giving Pakistan the victory with seven balls to spare.

In all, Nawaz reached 63 on 54 balls with three sixes and five fours while Talat finished on 41 from 37 balls with one six and four fours.

Chase had 49 runs and Greaves was not out for 26 with a thrilling selection of fours and sixes in a game shortened by rain delays in Tarouba.

Earlier, West Indies' poor start was steadied by Sherfane Rutherford's 33-ball 45 to put the home side back in the driving seat.

Chase sealed the deal by steering a delivery from Hasan Ali through cover for four and he punched the air in celebration.

"I'm happy with the win. We had to come in and level the series, so very pleased," Chase, who was named man of the match, said.

The decisive third match of the series takes place at the same venue on Tuesday.
