If anyone chooses to come and represent Pakistan in sports and is good enough, why on earth wouldn't Pakistan naturalise that person?

I don't understand this post. Has some foreign born individual been turned away from representing Pakistan?

The reality is, apart from the obvious diaspora representatives, nobody is going to do what you are suggesting for Pakistani sports.

Players in KPK who were born in Pakistan but have Afghan roots often feel unfairly rejected because of their background. At the same time, many Karachi players believe they’ve faced a long‑standing bias, almost like an unwritten quota system where only one or two Karachi players gets space in the national team at a time. No one knows exactly why this happens whether it’s internal politics or pressure from cricket lobbyists but the result is the same, talented athletes who deserve a fair chance end up feeling excluded. Though not spoken on national tv, but if you ask players like Rashid Latif and other based in Karachi, they will open up about bias against Karachi Players. Even Shahid khan Afridi and Shoaib Akhtar have acknowledged this in interviews.

Question: If there is bowler from KPK with Afghan background who is consistently bowling around 150 to 155k speed, should this raw talent be discarded because of his ethnic background?

Like I said before, KPK has enough raw talent that if trained and polished, they can make playing 11 for Pakistan but Pakistani cricket lobby will never allow that.

The province bias theory lies somewhere between overhyped and complete nonsense.

Pakistani cricket (disclaimer - I don't care and hope it dies a quick death!) has always been prone to ill discipline, poor captaincy, and lack of individual resilience on the pitch, REGARDLESS of raw talent available to us. In the past 3 decades, raw talent made up for these specific shortfalls and paper over the cracks, even propelling us to world titles numerous times. But the days when we churned out raw talent twice a year are long gone. There is nothing now to paper over the institutional weakness of our team on the pitch.

We hope and pray for some "mystery spinner" or some "raw pace" or some "unorthodox batsman" to bail us out and we used our quota of them up years ago.

All Pakistanis want, the few who are left and care about this sport, is some orthodox players who grind out results through determination and discipline until the very last hour of the test match or the last over of the odi/t20.

In response to your original assertion, swapping 11 punjabis for 11 pathaans will do nowt for this problem whatsoever. Your implication creates a distraction.
