Engine development is crucial for Pakistan. Even a single successful engine can lead to revolutionizing Pakistan's entire transport industry as those lessons can be transferred to other engine types. Pakistan would end up decreasing its reliance on foreign engines making Pakistan more sanction proof, and increase industrialisation.

Agreed wholeheartedly but sadly our industrial complex appears to be more inclined towards import rather than developing solutions which seems to be the greatest impediment towards industrialization in our nation.

The engine that GIDS is manufacturing "NTJ-V1", can any technical expert who has information here confirm as to its type? Like is it for a light fighter jet like JF-17. Are they planning to produce helicopter engines?

Also what would be the actual pounds of thrust with afterburner? or does it have super cruise ability (which is quite a stretch to go for early on).

So what I get from reading this piece is that the NTJ-V1 is not intended for fighter jets, rather its for cruise missiles or drones.
