Ever since the de-escalation after the 10th of may, i had this feeling that powers mediating brokered that last phase of fight.
Indians were humiliated thoroughly on the 7th of may and on top of that Pakistan was still persistent on payback via offensive action. This made India really nervous they couldn't handle any further embarrassment, so they kept throwing in drones and threatening missile attack, ridiculous amounts of propaganda whilst trying to convince mediators to stop us from retaliating.
This is when arabs with US backing brokered the 10th may action. One last hit both sides can have to show something for masses. Although indians went a bit overhead with an attack just before descalation.
And as for thier operation being on a pause, maybe it's because they want us to return thier pilot quietly, although we want to barter a better dialogue on issues.

Exactly the same thing happened to the NLI that happened in 1962 to the , 9th Brigade 9 Punjab, 4 Grenadiers, 1/9 Gurkha
Some fun facts:
Major Minwalia abandoned his Gurkha troops and fled to Bhutan, and his boss Brigadier Dalvi surrendered, The personal courage of the troops defending positions like at Tsanghdar ridge was commendable, The estimated 200 bodies of mostly Gurkhas killed were never accepted back by India and their bodies lie where they fell. Brig Dalvi, even though he put uo a heroic defense was never honored for bravery since he surrendered .
None of the troops who died were honored, and many of their widows didn't even receive pensions since they were listed "missing " not killed. Chinese sources acknowledge the bravery of the Indian soldiers, an honor denied to them by their own Army.
Culturally bravery is acknowledged only when the battle results in a perceived victory. Western and far Eastern culture is different. Britain acknowledged the bravery of its fighting men even as they retreated and evacuated at Dunkirk 1940

They are claiming multiple PAF aircrafts because sat pics show craters on runways and in open grounds meanwhile they haven't provided a iota of the proof for the much touted F16 that they shot down in 2019.

The retired Air Marshal went on record to say that his words have been taken out of context and the subject aircraft was already back in the air.
No point arguing with these battered and confused souls, they take pride in hitting some static targets and are too ignorant to understand how PAF destroyed every front line fighter in their inventory.
This too when the IAF was already up in the air and anticipating PAF to join the battle .
