U.S. President Trump meets with Russian President Putin in Alaska

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that Chinese President Xi Jinping told him China would not invade Taiwan while Trump is in office.

Trump made the comments in an interview with Fox News, ahead of talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.

"I will tell you, you know, you have a very similar thing with President Xi of China and Taiwan, but I don't believe there's any way it's going to happen as long as I'm here. We'll see," Trump said during an interview on Fox News' "Special Report."

"He told me, 'I will never do it as long as you're president.' President Xi told me that, and I said, 'Well, I appreciate that,' but he also said, 'But I am very patient, and China is very patient.'," Trump said.

Trump and Xi held their first confirmed call of Trump's second presidential term in June. Trump also said in April that Xi had called him but did not specify when that call took place.

China views Taiwan as its own territory and has vowed to "reunify" with the democratic and separately governed island, by force if necessary. Taiwan strongly objects to China's sovereignty claims.

The Chinese Embassy in Washington on Friday described the topic of Taiwan as "the most important and sensitive issue" in China-U.S. relations.

"The U.S. government should adhere to the one-China principle and the three U.S.-China joint communiqués, handle Taiwan-related issues prudently, and earnestly safeguard China-U.S. relations and peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait," embassy spokesperson Liu Pengyu said in a statement.

Although Washington is Taiwan's main arms supplier and international backer, the U.S. - like most countries - has no formal diplomatic ties with the island.

While Taiwan's government has yet to respond to Trump's remarks, on Saturday a senior lawmaker from the ruling Democratic Progressive Party said that Taiwan was grateful for support from "our major ally".

"However ... Security cannot rely on the enemy's promise, nor can it rely solely on the help from friends. Strengthening our own defence capability is fundamental!" Wang Ting-yu, who sits on the Taiwan parliament's defence and foreign affairs committee, wrote on his Facebook page.

I had previously heard that China had estimated that they would be ready to take Taiwan for unification until 2027-2028. This came through some American and Chinese sources that are credible. Now Trump's statement shows that time frame was right.

But why is China pushing out that plan? Why wait until Trump's no longer the President?

EXACTLY! If she was never captured, why not interview her on TV? Why not have the IAF pilots talk about their great victory and how they shot down whatever they shot down?
There is also a possibility that she was never captured and cannot be produced due to the very difficult process of putting a human back together after they are cremated.

However, it is also very possible that she is alive and well but suffering from severe ptsd and unable to come on camera.

She is Schrodinger’s Shivani at this point

“We destroyed one of their biggest oil depots and there were no civilian casualties. That is when we knew that God was helping us.”

Could have simply asked Hanif Abbasi, he was eating watermelon in phull confidence that night. Don't have to equate God with hitting black gold.

You should also mentioned about the cowardly attacks you did 0045 minutes to 0060 minutes after the ceasefire was implemented, again to Bholari and couple of other installations, both military and PAF.

To which, we notified Rubio and told him we'd respond in kind. He spoke to Trump and some channel back to India and told us if we can respect the ceasefire, they would appreciate it as it was on Trump's word due to mediation by the US. We respected it and stood down. The entire world saw our maturity and we were told by so many countries that they appreciated our efforts to control the escalation.

Mind you, that was the LAST time that maturity was shown. Next time, come at your own risk. The risk is from East to West this time.
Cowardice, lies, deceit, deception are all ingrained in their DNA & they demonstrate from top to bottom at every opportunity.

High time they release it and call India's bluff.

Regards

BTW, everyone has seen videos from the ground / wreckage site. why do you want to see from another angle? The ones which we saw on the night of 7th May. Everyone who had any interest in the event has seen those.

Just because China feels ready by whatever date, doesn't mean it's going to attack as soon as possible after that.

Most likely it's going to wait for a scenario where United states is distracted and attempting to punch through Chinese blockade is unfeasible. For example US might be involved in some other war, or going through an economic crisis or an isolationist regime in US.

US on the other hand will try to force China's hand in a time frame of it's choosing.

only 4 have been confirmed so other 2 must be Rafales.

An extremely well done presentation of the sequence of events May 6-10th conflict.
A reveal ( in Part 2 of the video) :
Two economically powerful Gulf states were pressuring Pakistan to accept the "beating" Inda was about to give. After the May 7th strikes, Pakistan was again pressured to not respond to India's mass missile strikes.

What are they waiting for ? Just release it let the world see it.
What's the rush? India's humiliation needs to be long, lasting and a never ending nightmare.

China released videos of Galwan Valley clashes much later after Indians had exhausted all their wild claims.
