Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

Yeah, I do not know enough about the technical chanllenges here, maybe PL-15 was designed from the outset just to work with AESA radars!?

Will defer to @JamD / @arslank01 etc, but I cant imagine a BVR missile will care about the host platform radar given that it will work off location co-ordinates. A AESA radar and pulse doppler should resolve a target to range(GPS co-ordinates?), height, speed in the same way once the science part is done(with the assumption that with modern systems, that both the radar, and positioning systems of the missile can agree with a high level of accuracy that their co-ordinates work within the same level of precision/accuracy ).

But I appreciate my modern modular, event based bus architecture based view of software engineering principles and architecture, may not apply to what 'may' be a archaaic view of how military systems work ?? The avionics core is based around a bus ie MIL-STD-1760 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIL-STD-1760 ) with each weapon being a terminal on the bus, and the messages will be specified for the missile. As such, while it is work to be done and certified, it does not strike me as being rocket science.

We know that as part of the Azerbijan deal, that Turkish BVR / AAM "were/are/will be" integrated into the JF17C as will other Turkish systems, so I think that answers the part about how difficult things are(or not). So, it feels more like prioritisation issues of time/resources or a strategic direction decision.

I still think the cost of integration is low relative to the military value uplift it will give as you will have a total of 170/180 JF17 PL15E carriers, versus 36 JF17C as of now and it does not detract much from any strategic direction decisions they may have made.

As I say, lets see. The evens of earlier this year, may force a reprioritisation and maybe this integration will come back on the table given the performance of the PL15E.

I have lived in the GCC for nearly 5 decades now. Khuda-qasm..., Indians say neche koi awaam mai nay nahe daikhi.

Imaan say, when some uses the word 'bhaighairat', they're often referring to their Hindu population.
