Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

Why?
What existing systems cannot achieve this?
Especially when it is change in messaging and reiterating posture rather than anything different to capability?
For a true first strike platform, you need something that can carry high accurate MIRV/ This means bigger warheads (nuclear warhead size and yield don't scale quite as linearly as conventional ones, but there is a link). Which means terminal guidance. Also countermeasures. And a powerful post boost vehicle (PBV) with space for multiple warheads, as well as sufficient on-board propellant to release warheads on an optimal trajectory.
All this requires a heavier payload, a large PBV and MIRV versus a simple warhead mounting and RV.
When we talk about missile range, what you are actually saying for payload mass x a missile has range y (trajectory also affects it but we will ignore for now). Adjusting x makes y greater and vice versa.

As a very rough rule of thumb (@JamD could explain better), halving the payload mass increases range by 40%.

So the same missiile which carrying 6 heavy MIRV on a bulky warhead PBV which can hit say 4000km, will have ICBM range with a single light warhead and no PBV.

Trump said he might come to Islamabad to sign the deal, even if he send some high level Dignitary, I think Indians can try to create some issues, or they might just sit this one out.

If Trump comes to Pakistan without visiting India before or after this will be the first time since 1969 and Richard Nixon that a POTUS has done that. Lubricant and Burnol prices will go through the roof.....

I think Pakistan should try to look at its global leadrrship position as a way to become a force for good. These statements make one scared that pakistan might opt for imperial tendencies and behav3 like america 2.0. The world is not looking for america 2.0

A major blow to India! "Pakistan in, India out? 🇺🇲

Four US presidents worked for years to bring India closer to America, but now the Trump administration has completely rejected India. We have chosen Pakistan over India" - Former US Ambassador Rahm Emanuel

Because the Indians proved greedy and one-sided. Their policy was to exploit everyone, Russians, Iranians, Americans for maximum gains while giving nothing back. This is galling especially to Americans who had been showering benefits on India for decades, from positive media portrayals to student and work visas to offshoring to weapon sales to tech transfers.

Still the Americans are merely seeking a change in the behavior of India and have not really reversed their tilt that began in the Clinton years. The West wants India to start delivering, like Israel.

They didn't chose Pakistan over India. Just that India is no longer that important for USA after India bottled against Pakistan militarily so forget about them ever taking on China. USA now want to end one way street of $ flows. And not help make another China like economic competitor in future.
