This... Honestly some people and the venom they have for this own nation boils my blood, and I am normally a chill person. Shameless behaviour.
It has boiled my blood enough to have the argument with my younger brother in Karachi a few hours ago, as I had mentioned above. His brainwashing goes thus:
1) This is all a Pakistani military and India 'fake conflict'.
2) I said Pakistan just shot down Indian jets. His response: "I don't believe anything the Establishment says'.
3) His view: The primary purpose of the 'Pakistani Establishment' is to enrich Punjab at the expense of all other parts of Pakistan [
we are Urdu speakers].
4) To #3: I wanted to say that there is widespread poverty in Punjab too but the argument was too heated.
5) His argument: 'The Establishment WANTS to destroy Karachi'. I said, 'the people of Sindh keep voting stupidly for the PPP so what can we do?? ' He said, 'that's a lie. There other parties like GDA, Jeay Sindh' etc but the Establishment wants Bhutto.
6) To #5: I asked: Well, your own Beloved Leader was the PM for almost four years when the Establishment had the Bhuttos, so what you say to that??
The deluded people of Pakistan. The cultists.
Basically, we all Karachiite know that the Urdu Speakers are shafted. But when I asked him why your beloved leader's 1.1 trillion Rupees and almost four years in power didn't help Karachi, his evasive answer was he was not supporting any leader. BS! Anyway, I was astounded by the poison a certain political narrative has injected in Pakistan!!! My own brother enjoying all the fruits of a Pakistani, enjoying a great life complaining like that. And I have another Urdu speaker friend living in Karachi who was my university days friend and he too was complaining some weeks ago to which I said: "You got a near free college education, good enough for me and your own brother to come to America and get higher education and get great jobs. Your three kids are enjoying great education and scholarships and you just had a grand wedding of one of your kids and yet you STILL complaining about Pakistan?? Go to India if you like India so much!" [
Yes, I said that in just about those words].
The ingrates kills me! I am well into my 50s and I have always seen Pakistanis bitching and complaining--going back into the early 70s. There is no satisfying them! But when they align with the narrative of India to promote their narrow political goals then I can't hold my anger!
That's why I insist on keeping politics out of this thread because some keep bringing it in!!!
