The thing I fear is that Indians are just all nut jobs. While Pakistan was patient and only attacked when forced, you just never know how far these unwashed extremists might go

Extremists are never nuts, that's a dangerous misunderstanding. They fully know what they're doing, that's how they grab power. You don't get into government by being stupid.
