Agree, but ihe only people who remember such moments are Pakistanis.
Hindutva-Hindus who constitute 99% of India's majority religious population today would rather forget such. moments of decency, or even if they remember them they use such instances to name and shame the political party ( Congress) then in power. The X post below is typical of their mindset today

Once again..,it is futile to hope for the remotest chance for peace or even a low intensity conflict . Our fate is sealed, and mutual destruction is just a matter of time.
Our enemy does not understand the words "mutual destruction" .

Just open first few pages of this thread. Most posts are from our friends from the west of us asking for the reason for delay in start of military action.
Once it started the tune changed to - How dare you do an attack.

Well unfortunately for you, there is an overwhelming lust for war- it's not just simply 'a social media post'.

There is an incessant obsession with Pakistan all over social media. Millions of views and millions of likes. We have clips from your own politicians beating the drums of war-hell even your own military institutions. I am sure there are remnants of level headed Indians, alas, they are likely few.

You can't sit there and try to brush it off as though we're only paying attention to the fringes of society sitting on 5 likes. Even some aunties who do cooking videos get bombarded with hostility from indians. It's a sickness.

A desire for peace and co-existence by Pakistan and Bangladesh is viewed by the Hindutva-Hindus of India, as weakness, and a capitulation. The catch words in the mainstream electronic media and official political narrative are " begged " ( for a ceasefire), "beggars", Kangladesh, India etc. In the bygone era, and even during the war of 1971 the media and politicians in India never used such terminology. That "war" ( actually an intervention in the Pakistani civil war) was not so much portrayed as a civilizational religious conflict since India's ally was obviously the Muslim Bengali population of the then East Pakistan.
The only reference to a civilizational conflict was made by the Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi who claimed a "1000 year revenge" ( ہزار سال کا بدلا لیا ) For this statement Indira Gandhi was promptly dubbed the incarnation of the "goddess Durga" by opposition Jan Sangh party ( fore runners of the current BJP-RSS ). The adulation quickly faded when just seven months after "1000 year revenge " Indira Gandhi held the Simla Summit and signed the 1948 Kashmir ceasefire line into the "Line of Control " effectively ceding " Pakistan Occupied Kashmir ". Indira Gandhi's act was dubbed an appeasement ( Tushtikaran in Hindi تشٹیکرن ) . The RSS-Jan Sangh opposition ignored the fact that the seven times superior Indian Army failed to recapture "Pakistan Occupied Kashmir " despite a historic "1000 year victory ". Indira Gandhi had to save face by agreeing to a ceasefire ( unilaterally) and later signing a deal and appearing to be a peacemaker.

Fast forward to 2025:
The Hindutva-Hindu population, want to live their dreams of the revival of the "Indic-Vedic " civilization. The obstacle to revival of the Indic glory are the Muslims of India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh.
It's not a question of disputed territory, terrorism, or civil war intervention to return refugees ( 1971) . Pakistan is not dealing with an Indira Gandhi or Lal Bahadur Shastri, but a fascist vicious regime hell bent on driving the sub-continent into the greatest carnage known in human history. A carnage that will be many times the loss of human lives of all the wars in recorded human history put together. There will never be a world war even with the NATO- Russia and China Taiwan tensions. A far more horrific Pakistan India war is highly likely even inevitable. Pakistan is no longer dealing with the type of enemy it has been fighting since 1947 which had a degree of rationality linked to the reality of self-preservation. The modern day Hindutva warmongers are in a different class. Even North Korea and Israel are rational when compared to Hindutva fascists.

People will hate me but if we continue to invest in subsonic systems and if we do not invest in modern technology, then we will lose against India decisively in the next war. India is too big for us. India can never be defeated but can be stalled, just like may conflict.

You know I can cheer and say we did great. We did ok. We have lots of weakness which India exploited. It's better to go for diplomatic solution rather than war. Pakistan must understand that world is united against terror groups so according to my common sense, it's about time before United states turn it's attention on us.

Solution is simple. Listen to India. Solve their issues and they will solve our issues including water. Kashmir can be patrolled by both armies. There is no need to fight useless war for Kashmir. People in the country are fed up of hostilities between the two nations. Look at our country and look at India! Look at Indian economy! Look at the foreign companies operating in India! We are no match to India.

Sincere efforts are needed from our side so that both countries work together and prosper together. At the end of the day, people are more important than Kashmir. Kashmir may be disputed but it shouldn't remain unresolved. Going to war for Kashmir is illogical. It's people who needs progress. India has left Pakistan alone and they are now 4th largest economy. Everyone likes a country that cares it's people.

Let me tell you something it Will explain mental capacity of our generals. In 1960, when Jawaharlal Nehru visited Pakistan, he asked President Ayub Khan for permission to visit the grave of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founding father of Pakistan. When Nehru reached the site, he was shocked, saddened, and deeply disturbed to see that there was no proper road or arrangement leading to the grave. The mausoleum stood isolated, neglected, and surrounded by emptiness. The next day, during his meeting with Ayub Khan, Nehru expressed his sorrow and said that even though Muhammad Ali Jinnah had been his greatest political adversary, he was a man of integrity, honor, and principle, and such a leader deserved respect. It was a moment of shame for the Pakistani military dictator of that time that an enemy prime minister had to remind Pakistan of the dignity and legacy of its own founder.
