My fear is that no nuclear event will occur and much like Libya the system will simply collapse around the state and you will have all types of western intervention just walking in and negotiating with various disparate power brokers to secure the nuclear warheads , materials and infrastructure while neutralizing any current and future knowledge holders of the overall strategic program.

if you put it that way, it is a very big concern for every one of us.

In that war gamed scenario, why would India want splintered, ethnic states? We all know how that always turns out. Current it has to deal with only one on the western side today, it would be multiples if what you describe happens.

Everyone would be fighting for influence......afghandus, china, iran, saudis.

Seems like a bigger loss to Indians.

Because those ethnic states will be busy fighting each other and a sharifa/zardari India loving eastern fractured state of Nawazoo at war with its western fromt suits India wonderfully.

The buffer state can do actual buffering for India then
