Chinese state media, citing top radar scientist Academician Ben De, claims that Pakistani J-10CE fighter jets used their onboard KLJ-7A AESA radars to detect, track, and shoot down Indian jets at ranges near 200 km during the May 2025 clashes, without relying on AWACS or a networked kill chain.
Gallium nitride modules and low-probability-of-intercept waveforms meant Indian Rafales, MiG-29s, and Su-30MKIs allegedly never got a lock warning before PL-15 missiles hit.
US and French officials have confirmed at least one Rafale and one other Indian jet were downed by J-10s that night.
