The shock was that India actually went ahead and launched a war on mainland Pakistan, in defiance of nuclear deterrence, in Punjab of all places.

In response, they got a GOOD hiding in which many indian soldiers and military personnel were killed along with massive damage to indian military bases. That TOO despite being MORE THAN 7x bigger than Pakistan and at the time having the FULL-BACKING of israel, america, europe, the west and russia.................................................

Kashmir has been abandoned since the Musharraf era. Pehelgam was an internal incident to India.

Anyone who has been keeping an eye on Kashmir from 2021 onwards knows Pahalgam was not a "False Flag" or "Internal Job".
Coming back to the original question i have been thinking about this since last year and i have some interesting observation(will write some days latter).

Why do you call everyone who has different view than you an Indian? Why these cheap accusations? I have seen you repeatedly employ this tired and pointless tactic against me and many others. Then you run to your moderator friend to use him to take unfair actions against those that deal with you the way you deserve to be dealt with

Launched a war? I thought it was a Skirmish. No?
Wasnt it also a shocker for India that Pakistan was not going to retaliate and instead shot down 6 plus of their front line fighter jets and targeted its military sites? What did India achive by starting this war?

You need to give up this habit now. I don't remember if it was you or your moderator buddy but last year I got called an Indian for merely asking about something as petty as the chronology of 10 May events (PA Artillery/Brahmos salvo timings) and it was either you or that moderator (you know which one) that immediately called me an Indian and (I may be foggy here) either thread banned me or deleted a post.

I remember cause it was one of my first few interactions on this forum.

This is a forum and if someone takes a devil's advocate stance around Indias military capabilities does not suddenly make him an Indian.

We should be thankful that our Airforce is not populated by people with your mindset otherwise who knows. Maybe they'd not even bother to train against Rafale threat and just pray that Allah will save them because they are Muslim.
