Casualties - can be mistaken for KIA - to be clear - a person having their arm or leg blown off is a casualty and on the unsecured net the Indians were using easily reported/interpreted by mistake as KIA.There’s no evidence that many were killed . There is evidence that a total of 6-7 jets were shot down. A high casualty rate like that is difficult to cover up. Even with the jets there were leaks your naive to think they wouldn’t be similar leaks if 200+ KIAd. I wish 200 of those sons of bitches were killed but I doubt it.
Technically, its "better" to have casualties for your enemy versus KIA. KIA is KIA.
Casualties need to be evacuated and resources tied down - Dead bodies can be piled into a corner and while demoralizing isnt a "drain" on resources.
However a field hospital overflowing with maimed individuals with their buddies and friends demoralized is better from a pure "out of the fight" perspective. You also want effectiveness of their triage and medical staff impacted by doing this.
