I have said during the conflict last year that Pakistan can’t allow India to dictate the tempo and scale of the conflict. This is suicidal for a small country like Pakistan when the aggressor is allowed to dictate terms. If you go back to the thread on the conflict, you will see few members claiming I was being hasty and that response will come and that I should “just wait.” Even ISPR guy was saying “ we will respond at a time and place of our choosing” even as India rained down missiles and drones on Pakistan’s key urban centers.

The last day operation by the Pakistan army was a total show for its people. Artillery and rocket launchers were being fired among civilians with civilians being allowed to climb military assets and pose selfies with troops actively engaged in the fight. It was very clear that the response was for public consumption and that GHQ and the army generals had zero appetite for the war. The PAF which grounded the Indian Air Force within few minutes of the war was itself grounded by the army generals to signal what’s now laughable doctrine of “maturity and restraint.”

Do not expect anything to change in the next fight. This doctrine will continue and future army generals will award themselves with ‘Field Marshall’ and other silly titles.

India was militarily defeated but came out of the war emboldened and just like 1971, expect the Indian military to learn fast and neutralize Pakistan advantages.

Next time I don't want to hear "time and place of our choosing" and letting the enemy attack for multiple days.

They should have a list of targets already prepared in advance of this scenario.

Hindsight is also a thing. Maybe if PAF was more aware of how far India wants to take it, they'd have fired more PL-15s that night. Its not irreplaceable like AIM-120.

There were 70 odd targets in the sky. Many more could have been taken down.

I was honestly surprised to see India go past 7th May. I did not think they would escalate this much over 26 people.

And overall there is silver lining. They did not do anything significant but it got us scrambling to improve our air defence.

The same will not apply for India however because they need minimum 20 years to induct something.

The rot in Pakistan is the army generals. Nearly every problem in Pakistan can be traced to them. I can guarantee you that if Jinnah lived long enough that he would have been arrested and charged with treason to rot in prison. We all know what the army generals did to Fatima Jinnah.
