I am sorry if i am asking a wrong thing. But can someone give me explanation why this conflict happens. And then how, and if it can be resolved peacefully.

I met a Pakistani person who had come as immigrant from Jammu Kashmir area and he told me there is no hope when i asked can the matter be resolved diplomatically between the participants.

Is it really so ? Is there no hope ?
