South Indians account for around 20% of India's population, are we really going to adopt our approach by ignoring the majority based on the minority?
I'm sure there were lots of good Germans, in-fact many saved thousands of Jews, but it didn't help the Jewish race, they were still killed like cattle.
I also recognise and appreciate the differences, but it's unwise to place too much emphasis on the minority to sort of justify a certain section, especially when that section is the vast majority.
It's also unwise to differentiate between interpersonal relationships and the bigger picture.
The relationships between nations fall into 3 categories.
1. Individual level, how they see you as individuals. (Pakistani)
2. Collective, how they see you as a group. (Pakistanis) < Plural
3. The state to which you belong. (Pakistan) < the collective structure.
To put it in a primitive way,
1. The individual,
2. The family.
3. The tribe.
They may love you but have entirely different feelings towards your family and the tribe. That's the reality.
It is extremely unwise to judge personal interactions and carry that forward to assume a bigger meaning.
I have more Indian friends then Pakistanis, far more, all of them North Indians, I love them to bits, but if you ask me how they feel about Pakistanis and especially Pakistan, its an entirely different picture. You can't shy away from that.
It's important to look for the good, but please don't get blindsided. No visit on a motorbike by a YouTube traveller changes the actual reality, he also went to Israel, nothing happened to him, experiences are fleeting but it's important not to lose sight of ground realities.
Let's assume, If 1% of Indians are madly and deeply in love with Pakistanis and Pakistan the country, that's 14 million people, you could spend multiple lifetimes swimming in that sea, and not know the hate amongst that 99%.
Are we really going to judge the entire group by the values or attitudes of the minority but ignore the very real, very clear large majority?
I'm just presenting all the facts and difference sides of the same cube.
I'm not saying that's the ratio, just proving a point. But a large majority it certainly is, which wishes ill will towards anything Pakistan related.
India has never been secular, and there exists a deep hatred towards Pakistan and Pakistanis amongst the majority, for decades, it is not a recent phenomena, something everyone loves to pretend.
