The missile was found in near intact condition. So it was fired towards an aerial body but could not complete it's objective. It ran out of fuel or malfunctioned and fell down on ground.

Or it was a two missile salvo against one target and the first missile shot the plane down and the second one had nothing to do???

Not much - the software will be encrypted. All they can work out is number of aesa t/r, frequencies, and processing capacity and motor design for range but most of that they would have already leaned by now with three shot down rafales!

These systems are designed with a view that some will fall into enemy hands and will be inspected so there are safeguards in the design itself that go beyond self destruction.

They have tonnes of money to throw at that problem. Raises the costs for them sure, but does not stop their belligerence in any way that impacts future events like these happening.
