JK obsession is for a reason. IF it goes to the next stage, if their bases in Kashmir and their supply depots are destroyed - taking Kashmir will be a lot easier, especially if we can bomb them back from the LOC.

Alhamdulillah all the soldiers and planes are safe!

They know that they lost the air battle. Going after the airfields, AA batteries are the next thing.

Remember they're taking this approach as a plan B. Their original idea was of course to provide cover to ground troops and possibly create air superiority over Pakistan.

This is the starting salvo of plan B. Unless they can fly their assets close enough they'll keep launching loitering munitions, cruise and perhaps even ballistic missiles.
