Pakistan Air Force’s JF-17 Thunder jets have destroyed India’s S-400 air defence system stationed in Adampur using hypersonic missiles, Pakistan's state owned news agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) reported.

The S-400, valued at approximately $1.5 billion, was considered one of India's most sophisticated defence assets.

The strike came as part of Pakistan's ongoing 'Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos', a series of retaliatory actions following Indian attacks on Pakistani territory targeting mosques and residential areas.

The S-400 system, acquired from Russia in 2018, is a mobile, long-range surface-to-air missile system capable of targeting aircraft, drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles at ranges up to 400 km.

It comprises missile launchers, a phased-array radar, and a command center, and can engage multiple targets simultaneously. India had deployed three of the five squadrons, with the Adampur unit being one of the primary installations.

In addition to the S-400 strike, Pakistan also announced it had targeted and destroyed several other Indian military sites, including the BrahMos missile storage in Beas, airfields in Udhampur, Suratgarh, and Pathankot, and artillery positions in Dehrangyari.

Tensions between India and Pakistan escalated sharply following the April 22 attack in Pahalgam, located in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which left 26 people dead. India blamed Pakistan-based elements for the attack without presenting evidence. Islamabad categorically rejected the accusations.

In response, India closed the Wagah land border, revoked Pakistani visas, and announced the suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty on April 23. Pakistan labelled any disruption to the treaty as an “act of war” and subsequently sealed the Wagah crossing on its side.

The situation further deteriorated on May 6 and 7, with explosions reported in several Pakistani cities including Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Muridke, and Bahawalpur. Pakistan’s military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, confirmed that Indian airstrikes had targeted multiple locations. Pakistan responded with air and ground operations under a new military campaign named Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

Within the first hour of retaliation, Pakistan claimed to have downed five Indian fighter jets, including four Rafale aircraft. Lt Gen Chaudhry stated that Pakistan had the capability to down more but exercised restraint. Indian media provided limited coverage, with one report by The Hindu later retracted.

International observers, including analysts on CNN, noted the downing of Rafale jets has challenged India’s narrative of regional air superiority. A senior French intelligence official also confirmed the loss of one Rafale aircraft to CNN—the first combat loss for the jet.

In addition, Pakistan’s armed forces reported intercepting and neutralising 77 Israeli-made Harop drones allegedly launched by India. According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the drones were brought down using a mix of electronic warfare and conventional air defence systems. ISPR described the drone activity as a “desperate and panicked response” to Pakistan’s defence strikes.

Security sources confirmed that Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos is targeting bases identified as launch points for attacks on civilians and mosques. Pakistan also launched its Al-Fatah missile as part of the operation, in honour of children killed during recent Indian attacks.

Ha..That says it all.

All in all, India lost may be 2 planes and some money. Peanuts. So many Indian weapons were tested. DRDO is doing a wonderful job. I see major thrust for indigenization in coming decade.

I see Pakistan getting a billion dollar from IMF. I hope 3 day adventure didn't cost you guys more than that.
Rafale, SU30MKI, mig29, all crown jewel and once the pride of India but got hat-trick over a night, you'll love the reaction in every languages and from every corner of the world, kid, it's much more than some peanuts.

Aircraft was not lost AFAIK but missile did hit close and got to them.

Allah actually saved a lot of people compared to what could have happened

The SAAB is too important an asset to not be in a HAS when not flying ... Base defence and operating procedures need to be reviewed again.

India is not deterred. How is this positive for us??
Notice that when India attacked Pak, the US was like - yeah whatever, they can figure it out themselves.

But when Pak hit back, it hit back hard. Somebody went running to the US to intervene, and we can guess who that was.

Net-net: A rabid aggressor has been forced to ceasefire within 2 days. If I was an aggressor against an adversary with a defense budget that is 1:8 of mine, would I agree to a ceasefire within 48 hours? I would not do that. Unless that adversary had somehow counter-attacked and given a beating. This means deterrence has been established - for now.

However, I will say that another episode is inevitable. Just like after 2019, India went back to the drawing board, purchased Rafales, S-400 etc. and came back again. Alhamdullilah, by all accounts we have given them another beating. Whether that next episode happens 5 years from now, 2 years or tomorrow, we have to be prepared for it. Because what we are facing is a supremacist ideology of Hindutva, which won't take this beating lying down.

What is Pashtuni nonesense? Does integration for you mean I should become Punjabi?

most of us are perfectly integrated and there’s nothing wrong with having pride in our ethnicity. Not sure what your issue is

As a Punjabi, I have no clue what that guy is talking about. You’re a Pashtun and Allah swt made you that. You have every right to be proud of who you are. Anyways this isn’t time or place for such nonsense topics that are irrelevant to India getting the shit kicked out of them.

Hamas has been fighting for years now - despite being all blockaded and up against the entire western military and intelligence machinery.

We agree to fucking ceasefire less than 12 hours.

Did you not get the memo?? Hamas is actualy Israel controlled - always has been.

So its Over! Ceasefire announced.

I was SAYING THIS 3 DAYS AGO. Modi/BJP Hindutva mindset only UNDERSTANDS strength. Modi & India will keep hitting you if you show weakness. They stopped when finally we acted atlast.

We would not faced attacks on our major airbases, or attacks on Lahore, Rwp, Karachi, and 9 other cities had we had balls & wisdom enough to strike back sooner. We certainly had no mood to hit back until ALL RED LINES were crossed. They were literally SLAPPING us on our face (our major cities) and we were only slapping back at their hand as a defense.

Timeline:
1- Day 1: India bombed our 9 cities. Pakistan as a defensive measure downed few of their attacking jets only.
2- Day 2 & 3: India did drones strikes all over the major cities in Pakistan.
3- Day 4: India launched massive missiles at major Pakistani airbases and we witnessed massive explosions. Pak finally did a limited response on only indian forward looking airbases (which obviously were empty by this time).

Redlines crossed:

1- India did a gross humiliation of Pakistan's sovereignty
by attacking our major cities like Lahore, Islamabad, Rwp, Karachi, Bahawalpur etc.

Pak response:
Nil - We never touched indian major cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, New Delhi. None at all. Its a pity we never settled that score.

2- India launched attack against major Pakistani airbases ( note india did not attacked on FOB ie. small airfields or forward airstrips, they literally attacked at major military installations. )

Pak response: Very mild, we only attacked their forward looking air strips with Fatah-1 missiles. All those small airbases are within 120 km range from border and none had any significant equipment, esp at times when they already have made the first move and attacked our bases first. We were 10 steps behind their actions. We were only reactive.

WHY we let india hammer us for 4 days?
I was saying here in the forum that Modi BJP's hindutva only listen to strength, as soon as you respond they will do the ceasefire. That exactly happened. They do not have guts for fullscale war. they do not want it too. They only wanted an environment where they unilaterally can keep firing missiles at Pakistan without Pakistan responding.

Now let's examine what enabled india to be emboldened so much this time and hit us so extensively this time.

Enabling factors in india's emboldened aggression against Pakistan:

1- Severe lack of leadership in Pakistan.

India saw a golden opportunity when it saw a leadership crisis in Pakistan. Not a single genuine leader with moral authority / will of the nation, they saw internal divide as one of their enabling factor.

2- Confused Role of Federal Govt:
PMLN led govt played a most horrific role to enable india's bold aggression, As continuously all ministers including def minister, dpm, PM were continuously showing severe weakness signalling. They even were saying that we will see the "mood" of india and only then retaliate. They were suggesting that downing of jets against total aggression of india was Pakistan's retaliation. India got emboldened by this and understood that Pakistan is scared and is now ready to be continually hammered.

3- Most absurd role of PMLN-affiliated Pak media:
Treacherous role of all tout media in Pakistan esp GEO is now evident. They 100% literally acted as if they are agents of india. They from day 01 specifically designed a narrative that Pakistan should not respond at all against india's total and naked aggression and humiliation of our sovereignty (with their attacks on our major cities). The pak media was continuously suggesting Pak military that it is Modi's plan to trap Pakistan. So please don't get in his trap and accept all the beatings. All those most journalists like shahzeb and others were parroting this for 4 days that it is india's trap, so if they send drones we will keep destroying it and that's it. GEO went above and far in treachery, they started making news "Pak army strong retaliation by destroying 80 indian drones", Imagine, they called Pakistan's being thrased and violated as "retaliation". India closely watch our media and sees what is our mood and intent. They sensed that we are in utter panic and are scared, so they continuously kept shoving and hammering us until we finally did a mild response.

In the end, only feat that we got from this 4 day conflict is downing their jets during their first attack and that was only because of mastery, tactics of our pilots & battlefield commanders and ofcourse their weapon systems. In the whole saga, there was ZERO contribution of any sort of leadership. Other than that for rest of 4 days we showed leadership crisis and absurd restraint. In coming days we will keep discussing the heroics of our pilots, weapon systems but will also need serious introspection on the reasons why india got emboldened enough to hit our major cities without any consequences. India crossed many redlines and pakistan didn't retaliated to those redlines. The whole event gave license and a new normal for india to reach our major cities and major airbases. So much for us to ponder.
