Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

Fake civility then open hostility is always more dangerous in long term as people become delusional and careless and when time comes they usually suffer fate of sacrificial lambs.

I am on the fence about it. I thought under both Vajpayee and Manmohan, who were from BJP and Indian National Congress, respectively, Pakistan and India were close to a historic deal in mid 2000s but then Musharraf was toppled and Pakistan got into serious security and political issues starting 2007. So, yes, there were/are seeds for a compromise even in India with Pakistan and hopefully they still exist.
In the end, Pakistanis want their water rights to be secured, Kashmiris to be given enough autonomy and dignity regardless of the boundaries as the boundaries could become meaningless after some period of peace and prosperity in the region, including in Kashmir. Europeans have achieved that.
But for that to happen, the extreme Modi ideology has to be defeated in every way. And hopefully that process has started now. A couple of Pakistani analysts have just said that if there is a non Modi govt in power next time in India then a resolution to the Kashmir problem is very much likely.
