It is true that you can't count on just about anything Trumps says or does except for the unwavering support to Israel and maybe to a few Anglos.
But I think his transactional nature, his urge to appear a 'peace maker' along with the isolationism inherent in MAGA also makes Trump more likely to ditch the old India-Pakistan policies. Americans, especially the MAGA people, are machos and they must be noticing how a David like Pakistan is taking on a Goliath like India and that's respectable to them.
