Pakistan needs continuity of policies for the next 15-20 years. F the democracy: They are all, I mean all, cut from the same cloth and so why expect a different garment?? But at least the military provides the first, the last and the only line of defense against an enemy which follows the Israeli model of domestic and foreign policy.

Democracy is a great system IF you have a educated population that understands geo political issues and national interests and understands that those interests are more important then anything and everything

Corruption must also be greatly controlled and a corrupt society or politicians targeted

If you can't do that then democracy is DANGEROUS, because it means foreign interests will BUY the politicians they need to cause havoc in your society

Now the same thing can happen in any system, but we need a controlled more autocratic system, where we can change Pakistan
Build institutions and put in place long term plans for the future


I was always a supporter of democracy, but democracy for a chaotic society like Pakistan will be deadly and dangerous for us

I would like IK and PTI members out of jail, but only if they can shut their mouth and i think a single party government with all stake holders involved
Where we explain to everyone the basics of what we need to do and change for the safety of Pakistan

IK would not have crossed the IB in retaliation. He would have had full control of COAS Faiz Hameed and the response would have been meek and limited to LOC.

Also he was weakening the relationship with China by being petulant when going through CPEC deals. He couldn't see the bigger picture.

I think he would make a great public welfare minister. A PM role is a stretch. We need someone more cunning and ruthless to force through the reforms and develop solid relationships with China, USA and Russia.

He wanted to make all the details of some CPEC deals public, which are secret for specific national security reasons. As much as IK is an idealist, he became too much of a liability. But then again that's pretty much par for course with the Pak political establishment, if it was even half competent, the military wouldn't need to intervene all the time, they have much greater concerns than having to wipe the noses of the politicians and ensure the safety of the state.

Contracts were given out for bloated electricity power plants and many of them were completely unnecessary and would have produced some of the most expensive electricity.......Government officials in collusion with Chinese companies were pushing for the projects with no need or instead of promised local coal would have required imported coal.

Neelum Jehlum is a classic example which failed and crashed causing huge losses....is it even producing electricity? Do you know why? because corrupt officials gave contract to a banned Chinese company.

Lets talk about what IK did do under CPEC....He started the most urgently needed Dam projects........Dasu Dam, Mohmand Dam, and the Diamer-Bhasha Dam.They will produce cheap renewable energy AND store water critical water.

ALl IK wanted was accountability and the right projects......what generals wanted was kickbacks and stupid fuel based electricty production which we are finding out let to uncontrolled circular debt, capacity payments and over production of electricity with no buyer.....

India has screwed only itself by playing this stupid neutral policy thinking its a superpower and doesn't need close allies the only close ally now Russia is weak and seems angry with India and the other Israel already is in a cold war with Iran.

IK did many good things but also did bad things

First off he was a taliban and terrorist sympathizer just look at what he said about bin laden

Also on top of that he is a bit hypocritical, he is critical of the military but also got propped up by it aswell in 2018. But this is a different topic for a different thread
