I'm gonna be honest, this is going to be even worse look for Pakistan if the attackers weren't even theirs. Modi somehow won the escalation game, he attacked multiple large air bases, and threatened war should any attack take place in India. Pakistan should have given a much much stronger response. Sure, they've won a victory with downing 6 Rafales, but it wasn't apparently strong enough of a deterrent.

A lot of indian bases got hit and many indian military personnel were killed. That is the reason why the indians were pleading for a ceasefire. Before operation sindoor, indians were claiming that they are going to do to Pakistan what the israelis are doing to the Palestinians in Gaza. So why did the indians stop? What scared them into stopping? Why have the indians gone all quiet and stopped the chest-thumping? Think about it. Ask yourself these questions.

They wont. Modi is going to carry on milking nationalistic fervour. My guess is in a few years when polls hit him he may try something else.

Thankfully now world opinion is realising what he is up to. This gives Pakistan massive leeway next time round.

That does require a significant change in the decision making cycle in the Pakistani security apparatus, which to date we have not seen them exhibit unfortunately. I think if there is a further round, Pakistan will not take pre-emptive action but will react again.
