Pakistan International Arlines (PIA) : News / Updates

How is it in principle different than “stabilizing guarantees” of a warlord in central Africa.

I gave the same example yesterday, in an attempt to give a simpler analogy, but it was shot down as silly innuendo :)

Bro like I told you. It’s like watching that old movie😂

You can’t have an intelligent discussion before it devolves either into “you are a very bad person” or “but what about that”.

Have they even seen the regional investment environment. What we are up against to attract business?
You make it sound like if army is the evil / traitor whose goal is to destroy Pakistan.....dude 60% shares of FFC are free float , they are owned by general public , mutual funds , banks and insurance companies...it complies with all the rules and regulations and pays dividends and taxes ....it has employed thousands of Pakistanis ....fauji foundation has hundreds of schools , most of them in remote areas ..... what's wrong with any of these things ? You are BShitting just for the heck of it.

I didn't know all that!! Thanks for the info. But it also generally confirms what I have been saying in this forum: I don't make a clear distinction between the Pakistani military and the rest of the Pakistani society. They are all cut from the same cloth except the military is organized and disciplined on top of being the ultimate guarantor of Pakistan's very existence.
Suddenly, the Messiah Khan whispered 'the Establishment' into Pakistanis' ears and everyone starts believing in his lies.

Tax payer will pay for the lossess that are booked since 2017. Common man will continue to pay for the doings of the elites for unforseeable future. 500 billion loss will be paid by the tax payers only.

@Vapnope

500 billion loss will be paid by the tax payers only.

Well, I have a consolation prize for you. When India privatised AI, it took over INR 450 billion or PKR 1.35 trillion worth of liabilities which are now being serviced by Indian taxpayers.

Regards

Unfair advantage. It’s a better run quasi government organization with influence over government.

It’s an evolution. While we point out things for further betterment of our economic structure. Over all the consensus of how the economy should be run is going in the right direction.

Hopefully if not fully now then down the line, we will have fully free private sector driven economy like it used to be before the curse of nationalization (and socialist/communist virus that seeped into our national thinking).

And those CSR activities are nothing out of the ordinary. Just saying.

Is Fauji Fertilizer a private company or a government company ?.

A government company entering after a "75% privatisation" using a backdoor, means privatisation is not clean .

It’s structured as private listed company. But really it’s quasi (better run) state company since it has influence on the government through its mother organization.

There's no unfair advantage , FFC was established when there was shortage of fertiliser and private sector was not coming forward to invest.....I agree with rest of your post.

Fauji Fertilizer can be a private company or a state company - not both at the same time.

If "Fauj" has majority shareholding then it's a Government company.

Let’s take what arif habib said in the video posted by @Meengla as whole truth for a moment. Hear what he is saying. He himself is taking Fauji group as a non-private sector entity. Listen to it, it’s Urdu not Greek.

It matters if It catches mice, imprisons Lion and sell zoo tickets while all other animals starve ?
