Pakistan is getting dry

Pakistan as a country is actually quite stunning

But it's not rainforest, it's more valleys, mountains, ravines and rivers

Pakistan however is getting WETTER, we have had major flooding now and it's getting more frequent

It's all to do with climate change, and Pakistans natural position, so heat in the middle east and India is driving precipitation into Pakistan, it's making Pakistan WETTER, but like I said it's not regular rainfall like in Europe,

It's times of very high rainfall and that's what's causing the flooding, so Pakistan can kill two birds with one stone

Create dams and reservoirs, so when they rainfall hits us hard, you can divert into the same, reservoirs and canals and during a dry hot time, you can utilise the water

Pakistan needs to be a nation of dams

But this is a slow process, especially due to the stupidity down south

There are other alternatives to dams, which are time taking, costly and cause a lot of controversy.

For eg

Checkdams
Water harvesting ponds

A structure called ghunghroo which is used in Gujarat- You dig a small cement pit and from the bottom of it, you drop down a small pipe which causes water to get into the water table and flood away. It recharges the groundwater and later you can use solar power pumps to pull it out.

To be fair various methods are being used, including smaller less intrusive dams in Balochistan and Sindh,

But it's always a slow process and with a population of 240 million it's never ending, your always playing catch up

Then you have a finance issue and compounding it all politics and ethnocentrism

IWT is important and FAIR, Pakistan is where the Indus lies, 90+ it goes through Pakistan, so the water share form Pakistan is fair, but once I think India whilst playing silly games at times is not the main reason for our water issues although it's own dams can be problematic

for starters, just build dams on the land which is under your control.
Indus or Pakistan isn't drying. You are wasting the water into Arabian sea.
It's necessary for the delta to flow into the sea as well ... Saving all the water in dams destroys eco systems ... Just look at what excessive human activity has done to the Ganges...
I sincerely hope better heads prevail both sides with respect to water usage...

We can start by daming smaller rivers with seasonal swells... Not that expensive and will sustain nortern punjab and kp through dry spells.. we should also seriously work on cleaning our sewerage water especially in Islamabad and Rawalpindi... Soan was a beautiful river and all small Nallas originating from Margalla are used for dumping raw sewerage... It makes no sense for the elite and one of the most expensive real estate in Pakistan be allowed such negligence....

I wouldn't be surprised if India finally took this bullshit treaty down the drain and constuct full blown dams. This bullshit treaty was signed and we got nothing in return. Blood and water cannot flow together in J&K it should be either or.
Aand there it is. Oh well.

Seems like I started this thread too late. Never the less, IWT will be gone soon..

India is already taking 90% (I will say more than this) water coming from Kashmir and Ladakh towards Pakistan.

India will anyway block our water, whether we do terrorism or not.
Pakistan better take it all, now.
