As someone pointed out, the hypersonic is a marketing gimmick. It's as 'hypersonic' as every other ballistic missile out there, not the true version used to refer to maneuverable glide vehicles.
Bro it's clearly written hypersonic flight even Pershing 2 had a speed of mach 2-3 in terminal phase, what's the main thing is it's trajectory, that vertical descent will make life hell for any AD.
Barak 8 is a failed system........for BMD.....Israel itself doesnt use it and instead relies on other interceptors including those from USA.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think the correct phrase that they should have used was "hypersonic at terminal phase/stage", which most of the ballistic missiles in the world are. Whereas the "hypersonic" in a missile refers to the glide vehicle that performs maneuvers in hypersonic speed when reaching its target.
Do you think our military planner "Babu's" know the difference between hypersonic glide vehicle missile and a ballistic missile that reaches hypersonic speed at terminal stage? I think they do.
It's more likely to hit hypersonic speeds (m4-5) during the boost phase then the terminal phase. Terminal velocity is likely in the mach 2-3 range.
Indians are highly desperate to have hi tech systems in place quickly to 'un-pause' Sindoor and try to regain something from nothing. However they not been consistent when trying to absorb this technology locally.Israelis can sense that would try to keep milking India instead of giving up their best systems.
