Hawker 850XP

Four Hawker 850 Executive Jets for the Navy

Post by Abbas Ali » Sun Sep 26, 2010 9:17 pm

Pakistan Navy, as far as I know, did not have jet executive transport aircraft in its inventory. Till recent times Pakistan Navy Fokker F-27 turboprop were used to transport Naval officers. Probably the F-27 used by Navy for transporting its officers will be retired after the induction of Hawker 850XP .

Any information about the configuration of four Hawker 850XP being acquired by Pakistan Navy ? I think two Hawker 850XP as transport aircraft for Navy officers will be good enough.

The other two Hawker 850XP could very well be aircraft's military variant to be used for missions like reconnaissance, maritime search and rescue etc.

Has RWR installed.

Since suspension of FMS and FMF and EDA Pakistan Naval Aviation assets have suffered significantly especially the P3C Orion program. Assets destroyed in the terrorist attack on PNS Faisal have not been replaced and upgrade of the remaining aircraft has not been made. Navy is now scrambling to upgrade its other assets like ASW and MPA from different sources.

This is not true.

I believe the US supplier the navy with two new P-3C orions to replace those destroyed and even upgraded the old ones

Still amazed considering how many new ships PN is inducting/about to induct (Barbur, Yarmook, Jinnah, 054A) we have STILL not got replacement for Aloutte and Sea Kings (bar a few Z-9s that are in use for F-22 Frigates). This should be a major priority above anything else. Aloutte and Sea Kings will soon become death traps and life expires, Z-9 simplhy not cutting edge for AShw/ASW warfare.
it will be very funny if they stationed a modern helicopter with an electronic warfare system on the Yarmook class while the ship itself doesn't have any.

Will be even funnier if they install EW system on your behind and station you on the ship's deck. That way ship will get some EW capability and it will be funny too at the same time.

Don't mind, it's on lighter note ;)
