I think PN will continue to scour the used market for Seakings because investing in new helicopters could be expensive and fitting the Z-20 with Western-origin systems would make them more expensive but the way the western market is shrinking for Pakistan Military there are not many choices left other than Italy Turkey and China.

The Marineflieger (German Naval Air Arm) Marinefliegergeschwader 5 (MFG-5; Naval Air Wing 5) at Nordholz Air Base in northern Germany will formally bid farewell to its 17 remaining Sea King Mk 41 search-and-rescue (SAR) helicopters on August 31.
Delivered between April 1973 and September 1974, 23 Sea King Mk 41s have formed the backbone of the Marineflieger’s SAR activities for more than 50 years, during which the type has flown about 180,000 flying hours in support of 17,200 SAR missions and 12,000 direct assistance operations. Of the 23 Sea Kings delivered, only two have been written-off, while a further four have been withdrawn from use, leaving just 17 examples in operational service.
The Marineflieger is honouring the Sea King’s successful 50-year career with two eyecatching liveries.
Since March 2024, a Mk 41 variant (89+58) has been wearing its colourful Farewell
Sea King scheme, reminiscent of the Goodbye Huey livery worn by the Heeresflieger (German Army Aviation) UH-1D Iroquois fleet in 2020, and features two Sea King silhouettes flying into the sunset. Last summer, a Mk 41 (89+63) received a silver and orange retro scheme. The orange colour reflects the type’s operational livery from previous decades, while the silver celebrates the type’s commitment to half-a-century of SAR service.

The Sea King’s departure from Marineflieger service will not be the end of the type’s journey, as six aircraft will be handed over to the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the coming months. The future of the two special schemed aircraft has yet to be determined, although efforts are being made to preserve them as gate guardians.
